Questions I have about the Amiti.

Hello. Browneye has answered some of my questions but I have some more before I head to my appointment at the Giant store later today. First of all I cannot tell from my reading whether or not I can use my iPad Pro to change settings on this bike. It appears you must use a phone. Can I use...

Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Hi Broweye I have been looking around for more information on the Ride One control to try and figure out how reliable it is. You seem to have the most experience with them. Are there any issues? Rain? I like the simplicity. But I would kind of like to have mileage and I do not own a cell...

    Shimano Nexus geared hubs?

Steve, I will give you a call later. I had a bike with the 8 speed Alfine. I used it for 6 years through all kinds of weather. It worked great but the ratios were not the best. Big jumps between some of them. I had heard about the 11 Alfine and tried one at MEC. It had more even spacing in...

    Magura hydraulic rim brakes ?

Hi Steve I have been meaning to give you a call. I have had these brakes on two bikes in the past. Not e bikes. They work very well but.... The rims did not last long. I was riding in any winter weather and very quickly the rims had deep grooves and started cracking out in chunks. I then...

Trek Verve + low step dimensions

rbpatt: Thanks for doing this. I have time booked today to ride a medium and will measure it. I have liked the small ones I have ridden. We shall see.

    Amiti E+4

Good idea to start this. I am male but the LIV bikes work for me better than the regular bikes. I really like these bikes, especially the motor. The torque is wonderful. I have been out riding 3 different ones. I would need to make it a little more comfortable with higher bars and more...

Trek Verve + low step dimensions

If anyone has a small Verve + low step 2019 would you mind measuring the horizontal top tube from the centre of the headset to the centre of the seat post. This method is a bit arbitrary but would give me some useful information. Thanks, John

Trek Verve + low step dimensions

Hi Oberst Thanks for this. What I am looking for are the numbers for the 2019 model which is slightly different from the 2020 and 2021.

Trek Verve + low step dimensions

Hi I have been looking at this model and have ridden them and find them very comfortable. There aren’t any 2019 small ones left but there might be a medium at one store. But with the lockdowns etc it is difficult to get to the store and I would like to look at the numbers before bothering...

    Battery strap/holder options?

I agree with you regarding safety. I am most concerned with carrying it after removal from the bike. From there to the elevator and to our apartment. One option is that I could have a carry bag in my parking spot for this.

    Battery strap/holder options?

Unfortunately for me living in a rental apartment with a bike cage charging on the bike is not going to work. There are no plugs anywhere near the cage.

    Battery strap/holder options?

I like the Amiti and am serious considering buying one, BUT I have read about the high risk of dropping the batteries. A relative of a guy I know has managed to drop theirs. It ended up OK but...... My 74 year old hands can‘t be fully trusted as arthritis moves in. So, has anyone...

I am thinking of buying a Trek Verve + ?

Steve: I had a bike with belt drive. I would not buy another. I rode a lot on dusty gravel thinking it was fine and it would not cause a problem. The next time I got caught in the rain I had dripping black water everywhere. The dust was accumulating between the teeth of the belt and on the...

I am thinking of buying a Trek Verve + ?

Hi Steve. I live near where you ride and take pictures. We might meet up sometime. I too have been testing and reading all I can about the Verve. What I like most is that it is one of the lightest ebikes at around 45 lbs. I can get the upright position I want on it. No front forks is ok...

    Trek “quill” stem question.

I am in the process of deciding on an ebike. The Verve is one I like. But... I would like to be able to put a different stem on it and maybe a higher fork steerer extension . I have heard there is an adapter that can modify/allow this but have not been able to locate information on it. If...

    Quick-E+

I am seriously considering this bike but I need it to be more comfortable for my 73 year old body. Pressure on my hands and the bend of my neck just do not work for me anymore. I have the Kinekt seat post on another bike and will move it to this one. I really like it. I would like to raise...

    Kettle Valley Rail-Trail?

For those who are thinking of taking the KVR trail I have some thoughts for you that might help. Most of the hills on the trail are low grade and pretty easy to pedal up. Trains generally only use very low grades. IF you are going to go up the Coquihalla highway it will be hard the hills...

For those who are shopping for their first e-bike....

I can’t remember where this quotation came from but it went something like: If you are buying something don’t talk to people who have already bought one but talk with others who are in the same process as you. The main reason for this is that many people who have purchased the item will not...

A question about the Amiti e which may relate to other e bikes.

I am very new to e bikes and have been out riding four different brands. With the Amiti e I found that when I backed turned off the ECO so that I could pedal it there was a significant “drag” immediately. After doing this a few times I thought that this would a very difficult bike to ride...
