Pace 500 - be careful at start, especially when also turning

phoenixtoohot, I updated that thread. Lowering the speed limit from 28 mph to 20mph only reduced the PAS 1 speed by about 1 mph. Actually I'm not really sure the PAS 1 speed changed at all.

Pace 500 - be careful at start, especially when also turning

I had only ridden torque sensing ebikes in Europe so I have to say I was shocked with the PAS 1 acceleration of the Pace 500. I warned my wife about it before her first ride. If you are in a tight area or around cars or pedestrians I recommend using PAS 0 and then use the throttle after you get...

    Pace 500/350 Assembly Tips

I checked the spoke tightness on both the Pace 500 at 100 miles and the 350 at 40 miles and found several that were really loose. Too many loose spokes can cause broken spokes, especially on the high torque Pace 500 rear wheel. Spoke tension specs are: Park Tool Tension Gauge 28 (107kgf) on...

    Pace 500 & 350 Differences ($300 worth?)

I know a lot of people will want to know if they should spring for the extra $300 for the Pace 500 so I thought I'd try to make the decision easier. Here's a list of differences between the Pace 350 and 500: 1. Motor. This is the primary difference. The 500 has a 500 watt 48 volt motor while...

    Pace500 spokes breaking

I just went over my Pace 500 (110 miles) and wife's 350 (40 miles) and several spokes on both bikes were really loose.

    Ride Quality of Pace 500

I did a 20 mile ride and only used PAS on steep hills. The battery and display energy bars were still showing full at the end of the ride.

    Pace500 spokes breaking

I did read recently (here or on the Facebook group) of someone breaking a rear spoke on a ride.

    Ride Quality of Pace 500

I ride my Pace 500 mostly with the electric assist turned off (PAS 0) for exercise. I ride a 25 mile loop and only use PAS 1 when I can't climb a hill in first gear. You really don't notice a difference between the Pace 500 in PAS 0 and a normal, non-electric bicycle. I agree, run a lower...

Pace 500 Initial Impression and Mini Review

No, it didn't seem to have any effect on the PAS 1 speed.

Pace 500 Initial Impression and Mini Review

Mike, will we be able to update our bike's "firmware" for the improvements? If you can pass it along I really think PAS 0 should be the default power up setting. I often forget to set PAS 0 and get surprised by the sudden acceleration.

Please tell me about your Pace 350

I put together my wife's Pace 350 medium step-through yesterday. It's a great bike and my wife really likes it. We did a 14 mile ride today with her on the 350 and me on the 500. She kept up with me no problem. The bike is well made with quality components and rides very nicely. She has no...

    Pace 500/350 Assembly Tips

Pace 350 Differences: The Pace 350 disc brakes do not have plastic brake pad separators in the brake calipers. The rear axle tabbed washer on the left, brake disc side goes outside the frame with the tab down and sticking inward. The other side goes inside the frame with the tab down and...

Pace 500 Initial Impression and Mini Review

That's a good point and a good technique Bigal. I was used to torque sensing ebikes and was really surprised by the Pace 500 initial acceleration in pedal assist level 1. I warned my wife about it before her first ride. I agree that pedal assist 0 should be the power on default for all ebikes...

    Pace 350 released!

I've ridden several ebikes with mid-drive and hub drive. I don't notice a difference in how they deliver power but there are two big advantages to hub drive. With hub drive you don't have to worry about what gear you are in, the gears are just for leg power, the motor doesn't use them so you can...

    Pace 500/350 Assembly Tips

Here's a few quick assembly tips for the Pace 500 & 350. Start charging the battery as soon as you get the bike out of the carton and the packing removed. The battery removal keys are zip tied to a handlebar cable. I went crazy trying to find them so I could get the dang battery off and...

Pace 500 Initial Impression and Mini Review

I'm a new Aventon.com Pace 500 owner and I want to share my initial impression of the bike. I'm 6'2" and 240lbs so I went with the large frame. I ride my bike for exercise and don't commute with it. I'm a pretty good mechanic but it still took me about an hour to assemble the bike alone...

    Buying KTM ebike in USA?

Thanks Over50, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. By the way, no one is going to buy a Pierer Mobility motocross bike :D

    Buying KTM ebike in USA?

I rode a friend's KTM ebike Mountainbike in Hungary for the last three weeks and absolutely loved it. Are there any real KTM ebike dealers in the USA? The only dealer that I could find was JeJamesCycles.com which only sells the Macina Chacana 293 for $4,248. Any other way for us Yankees to buy a...
