Moving from Vado SL EQ to Creo 2

This is true. The Creo buttons suck. They are way too chunky and don't fit nicely anywhere. The electronic shifters are perfect. They should have piggybacked on that system or made them equally slim. The +/- shifter on the full size Vado is super slim and also a great solution with the haptic...

Moving from Vado SL EQ to Creo 2

Did you buy the Quick Rack recently? It really does work great. Almost spent $700 on the Tailfin, and glad I didn't. The Quickrack hits all the requirements while looking good too.

EBR made me do it! (new Vado SL 5.0 EQ)

Great choice! The EQ model will be so handy. I've come to dislike charging my standalone bike lights more than e-bikes. I think you'll like the flat bar geometry a lot more than the drops. Love the high vis color too! IIRC the Vado SL 5.0 comes tubeless ready? That'll give another nice boost to...

    Not buying Specialized ebikes again.

It likely does vary from store to store, as others have said. Another example is they shared some clear disdain for e-bikes, and belt drive in general on test rides. I approach bicycles from a commuter, get around town, leave the car at home, explore all the nooks and crannies, pickup...

    Not buying Specialized ebikes again.

Came across that increased noise complaint a ton in my searching of various forums and groups. Seems like this is something that happens with a lot of those motors. Sucks to buy a high margin variant and still receive awful support. I completed a return to my local Specialized under their 30...

    Charging E Bike

Something like a portable battery pack? You'd likely need one that can put out 230 volts that your UK bicycle charger expects. 314 watt hours however isn't a huge battery, fortunately in this case. This Jackery Explorer 500 would work..but it'll cost a lot. Have you thought about a long...

    Rip-Off Web Clone Aventon Scam

I was going to ask how anyone could reasonably think a bike could cost $100, but then again many of us feel that $5-10k is a reasonable price for a bicycle, so..

Creo 1, tire pressure for pavement?

I would experiment with different pressures to see what works best for you. I typically always go by feel.

City of Long Beach Raises eBike Fines to $500.00

Being from the east coast and still visiting a fair bit, nothing scares me like Texans in cars. And by cars I mean a huge pool of people here driving here the largest trucks or SUVs you might find on Long Island. All the aggression, with none of the skill. I guess drivers in both regions are...

City of Long Beach Raises eBike Fines to $500.00

How is traffic enforcement over there out of curiosity? Here in Austin you could do just about anything in a car and not get pulled over. Some of our citizens think bicycles are the sole threat to pedestrians and the sole source of traffic congestion. When the city makes road improvements they...

    Stronger headlight ?

Good info! The Haul ST has a brights option too. Really found it to be useful. I think it’s a Lezyne brand. I’m sure they could find something compatible, or work with a supplier to produce it.

Contemplating the Specialized Vado or the Vado SL?

The manufacture date is to be expected. They have tons of these unsold, and they were not recently release. I’m aware calendar aging is a thing with batteries, but it is what it is. If your battery dies prematurely you can always argue the advertised model year and manufacture dates. Likely it...

    Stronger headlight ?

I’d want something made for biking with a brights option. Basically the supernova lights. For the price of a gazelle this should be standard… not necessarily super nova brand, but something.. I always find myself manually reaching down and adjusting the beam direction depending in the...

    Google Maps Bicycle Routing

I use street view before heading into unknown areas. Every time. It would be cool if google used their satellite, street view, and AI power to really rate the safety of roads. Instead they predictably use data from cities about designated bike routes. I can think of at least a few in my city...

    Current Vado/Tero motors

In my experience, no. A full size motor just has so much more power/torque than the best lightweight motors and lighter weight bike doesn’t do enough to offset that when things get really steep. That said, maybe there is a dealer with the bike nearby a steep hill for testing?

    Specialised Como 5 SL

You want the Vado/como 4.0 at a minimum. I think the Vado is better but whichever you prefer.

Stromer torque measurements compared to other brands

More fantastic info, I really appreciate and can related to the way you're describing the motor differences. Choose your experience: Never-ending tailwind, or Superman. Actually this is what drew me to a Bosch powered bike over the Specialized Vado to begin with; it felt more like a tailwind in...
