    Signs of Spring

We were clear last week with that one off 80° day. Got in a nice 38mi ride.

    Signs of Spring

Same here this morning. But I'm hell bent on going for a ride. Charging the bike, heated socks and hand warmers and will roll around 1pm when the temp gets to about 36°

    Bike Modification

No modifications... Sold as such. If you need more assistance, especially on hills you may want to look into a bike with a stronger motor and/or a mid drive that makes better use of the gears.

Lady cyclist killed in Davis involving juvenile on ebike...on the bike path.

I once fell 21 ft off a ladder.. but since I was listening to EVH, the air guitar motion I was doing slowed my fall and I am the 1 in 4. I then rode home at 28mph uphill on my class 4 ebike. 🙃 ymmv

Help deciding when to switch to an ebike?

And the same goes for the heat and humidity of mid summer. You can ride 1 or 2 gears higher letting the motor take the extra load and the reward is a much more effective cooling breeze at a higher speed while still getting exercise. I can't tell you how many people I pass who look just miserable...

    Battery Storage

You should be fine at 6 months if your battery is in good condition. I've stored batteries near 1 year with only a 0.2V drop in that time. My current battery stored for 3.5 months at 46v (on a 48v nominal) was just checked at the beginning of the week and it had 0 V loss. 50% charge at room temp...

Suspension Frame: bearing tool (6902 bearing)

Ok i think I'm all set. I picked up a cheepó set from Amazon. $36 delivered. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F882S42X?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title Test fit it in the frame and old bearing and it's dead on. After the fact I found this... So it seems you can buy just the drift you need. @...

Suspension Frame: bearing tool (6902 bearing)

I guess I'd have to buy it to find out. But now that I think about it... it would need to be just shy of 28mm or it'll get stuck in the frame. Anyone have a 27.5mm 🙃

Suspension Frame: bearing tool (6902 bearing)

Thanks. Actually the replacements I ended up ordering are 2RS. Couldn't find VRD I don't think I can use the old bearing to push the new one as the bearing doesn't sit flush in the frame and sits recessed. So to get the new one fully seated the old bearing would be too far into the frame and not...

Suspension Frame: bearing tool (6902 bearing)

Yeah gave that a quick try with the sockets on hand and though very close, not close enough for this tight press

Suspension Frame: bearing tool (6902 bearing)

It's going into the rear triangle pivot and it's a very tight fit. Definitely going to need to press this one in.

Suspension Frame: bearing tool (6902 bearing)

Anyone know of a good quality affordable bearing press tool? Don't need top notch as it'll be for minimal personal use. I'll add... When purchasing a 6902 bearing... What does the suffix denote? VRD in this case tia...

    Rad has new owner

Don't be too sure about the cost benefits of assembly in the US. The Bicycle Corporation of America (BCA) closed its Manning, South Carolina, manufacturing facility in June 2025 due to high tariffs on Chinese-made components, which made domestic assembly financially unfeasible. As a subsidiary...

I bought a Grin Satiator equivalent for $77 CAD

Yeah that's what I did... Looked around the house for something hard but with a little give. The urethane spacer is much better than layered inner tube. And no electrical tape is a plus as well.
