Garmin RearVue 820 Radar Light impressions

I rode the Varia for the first time today. My ride included several roads that had traffic on them, as well as intersections. The RearVue 820 had no falses. It has longer range than the RTL510 it replaced. I would get an alert and not see the vehicle in my rear view mirror until a few seconds...

2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Today started unusually warm for this year, high 40's, but the forecast showed declining temps as the afternoon wore on. I decided to head out to Nauset Beach in Orleans. 40 mi., mostly Eco on the way out but Mid on parts of the way back. There was a stiff 10-15mph headwind from the northeast on...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Hey Stefan, You spit out a bunch of "facts" that were dead wrong. I called you on it. If that's rude, that's on you. I've got lots of experience with Di2 for MTB. My Pinarello has Deore XT Di2. Wireless. It is everything that the road versions offer plus a clutch. You ride a proprietary frame...

    Trek Checkpoint Plus Range?

There's nothing wrong with estimating, as long as everyone knows that it's estimating. It's when estimates get purported as facts because the math says so is where we may diverge in opinion. But you knew that. No need to drag that argument back up again. I think your estimate seems pretty close...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Spoken by someone who has never set up and used Di2. I have ridden and raced Di2 on every road bike that I've owned since the original Dura-Ace 7970 ten speed system. You are flat out wrong. The system does rely on a reasonably straight derailleur hanger, and a cassette and chain in good...

Braking power and good modulation are not mutually exclusive. A proper braking setup has both.

That is a typical symptom of a derailleur hanger out of alignment. You may be able to tune some of it out, but I would check that first.

I have 2-finger M9200 XTR XC levers. It took one ride to get used to them. Most of the time, I only use one finger to brake.

Pizza and soup are common themes in your ride posts. I don't eat like that when I ride, so I'm always interested in your perspective.

Mid drive motor opinion clearance bike

Agreed. It may either not be accurate for his version of the bike, as manufacturers will swap parts depending on availability, or not accurate at all. That said, it came from somewhere, and if the parts I marked as good are on it, then they're good from my perspective.

    Trek Checkpoint Plus Range?

Get the range extender and don't worry about range. You can do all the math in the world but you really won't know your range until you ride it a bunch of times under varying conditions. There are too many variables.

    Solved chain dropping problem (Creo)

I don't have the SS, I have the X1 Plus. I did not have that experience. You must have the opposite bead in the well and the tube completely deflated. Use irons on either side of the gap and then one in the middle of the gap with finger pressure to seat.

    Shipping an Ebike

Mark the box with a UN3091 hazmat label. That's the declaration for OEM lithium batteries installed inside equipment. Declare it on the shipping form. That's it.
