    Frey CC

It is a nice bike, miss riding it in the winter but just too wet and cold in these parts to enjoy this time of year. Pricing has gone up quite a bit since I bought mine. Was $3K a couple years ago, now $4.5K, wow, glad I picked one up when I did!

    E-Bike Battery Guide

I'd think ebike companies would have significant liability exposure if risk was significant and they didn't give ample warning. Just for grins I went to the RAD site to find disclaimers. This is the best I can find: Risk of injury from an accident is probably higher, not that I don't take...

Luna rips off Watt Wagons Hydra?

So light you're going to pedal without battery. 🤣 Seriously though, even without battery, I think they're still fibbing by at least 5 pounds. No way it's lighter than the Luna X1 which tips my scales at 55 pounds, with a smaller battery.

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

It really isn't that hard to program a UART motor. Way easier than pulling out your motor and sending it to Watt Wagons and reinstalling your motor. Trust me, I've done it twice, don't look forward to doing it again, lol. The win is you get a better controller, but not sure throttle jockeys...

    Hydras being distributed by Bolton?

Well, you are basically buying both bikes from Dengfu thru a middleman, perhaps an extra middleman if Bolton is inserting itself between Denfu and WW. WW hasn't necessarily inspired confidence as of late. Not sure about Bolton and who is left holding the bag for warranty. I can't imagine the...

    Hydras being distributed by Bolton?

Not sure why anyone would buy the Falcon over Luna's X2. Luna's offering is $900 cheaper, with upgraded peek gear, more recent frame design and larger battery with (likey) less expensive option to upgrade the ludi v2 controller vs innotrace. Also, looks like they are offering the Invoxia GPS...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

The reason I went with the Watt Wagons (innotrace) controller was for the other benefits - efficiency and smoothness some of which are a result of controller design that can't necessarily be achieved with the stock controller. I think the issue for tinasdude might be whether they can actually...

Ebike Companies with at least 20.000miles or 3 years warranty for the Electronics (Battery/Motor/Controller/Cables)

I recall Zen is hoping to offer 3-5 years on battery. https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/zen-october-2021-updates-from-halifax-canada.45635/#post-485312

Newbie DIY Build: Dengfu E06 M620. Hood River, Oregon.

Ah yes, I think you're correct. I recall folks opting for a fat tire specific variant from FREY (I think one of those variants might have even been rebadged for Backou) vs. the older AM1000.

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

3a and 3b are defining items considered to be part of a motor vehicle or motorized land conveyance and thus excluded with the motor vehicle. In 3b they append 'of motor vehicles or all other motorized land conveyances" so clearly they are defining a subset of what is already deemed a motor...

Newbie DIY Build: Dengfu E06 M620. Hood River, Oregon.

Agree with JRA, 14ah won't cut it on the Ultra. You might be able to get away with it on a M600 build. I know you're looking at a CF frame, but have you seen Frey's kit for the AM1000 v6? https://shop.frey.bike/products/am1000-v6-frame-kits I think a FREY customer can get you a slight...

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

To clarify, did you ask if your homeowners policy provided any coverage for your electric bicycle, or were you asking if you could get a separate insurance policy for liability, property damage, theft, etc.?

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

To be fair, I think that portion bolded in red is intended to clarfiy / exclude motorized things that are actually part of the motor vehicle, as opposed to personal property in the vehilce. For example, a boom box with cassette motor stolen from a car (covered by homeowners policy) vs. in dash...

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

Good point. I assumed non-motorized language was in there. The insurer does seem to be conflating "can be exclusively propelled" and "designed to be operated solely by" to support their denial. The latter is in the policy, but not the former (at least not in the portion provided by the OP).

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

Did the adjuster ever point to the specific exception in the policy? Seems as if they are saying an ebike with pedal assist would be covered, despite having a motor. When terms aren't defined in a policy, courts have held they must be given their ordinary (as opposed to technical) meaning to...

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

Walk mode can exclusively propel class 1/3. So technically, if anything that allows the motor to exclusively propel an ebike makes it a motorized land conveyance, they could exclude class 1/3 as well (assuming the ebike has walk mode, some do not, but that is the exception to the norm). I...

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

It appears motorized land conveyance is not defined. I assumed it was a reference to "conveyance" (transport) on "motorized land" but after looking at this judgement it seems to refer to "motorized" vehicles that provide "conveyance" (transport) on "land" (as opposed to water, air, etc.)...

Insuranse rejects a claim on the basis that e-bike is a motorized vehicle.

Yup, also coming from a background in the biz, insurance companies do NOT want to deal with state regulator complaints. Give the adjuster one last chance to reconsider, and make it clear you will be filing a complaint if they deny your claim on grounds it is a motorized land conveyance simply...

Watt Wagons Critical Product Availability Status

Issues are communication, transparency, and lack of action plan (and motivation). Those are the ingredients for a shitshow. Feedback speaks for itself, it's been a broken record for a while, call it something more polite if you prefer, but at some point you have to call a spade a spade. I get...

Watt Wagons Critical Product Availability Status

But is it normal for a relatively small company with not much to do (waiting for parts) to not have time to respond? I don't think they are building that many bikes right now.
