    Canbus---- motor/parts replacement?

Yeah, but the 5 second overrun isn't normal, sounds like a warranty issue to me, not necessarily a programming issue. Or do all of the canbus ultra motors have this quirk? First I've heard of anyone with that particular issue. Generally the complaint is the speed limiter and lack of smoothness.

    Which colors looks better?

I might only mention ebike in small print and make the bike more subtle so it looks more like a TV, assuming that's your goal. Maybe picture a charger or plug instead of bike?

    Canbus---- motor/parts replacement?

Also, did you buy your Warthog from Bolton or direct from Leili? What did they say regarding your issues with the 5 second overrun? Bolton is partnering with Watt Wagons on a bike and may be an upcoming Watt Wagons dealer, so if you are in their neck of the woods they may be able to upgrade...

    Canbus---- motor/parts replacement?

No No, doesn't work that way. It's not just the connectors, the canbus motor has internals that will only work with a canbus controller. Short story you can't put a UART controller on a canbus motor without a canbus/UART translation chip between motor and controller. Watt Wagons / Innotrace...

    Canbus---- motor/parts replacement?

I don't think your issue is CANBUS per se, sounds like you have a faulty controller. As bad as the default programming is, it shoudn't surge for 5 seconds after you stop pedaling. I would contact Johnny at Bafang for warranty service. Johnny Qin Technical Support Executive BaFang Electric...

Why mum on estimated pricing for PAS upgrade or did I miss it above?

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

As someone else noted, rear hub motors add unsprung weight to the wheel so they don't work so well with rear suspension. Also the weight in the wheel adds affects rotational mass which I believe increases inertia, but other than that I'm not sure it would be all that different than a rear hub...

How do I attatch a picture file in a conversation?

Thanks. I had mentioned the issue a while back but I guess it wasn't visible enough. https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/attaching-images-in-conversations-diabled.35419/

How much different it is than riding a torque sensing rear hub? I can appreciate that higher power would be exhilarating but not really sure it comes from anything but that?

Okay, let's go with LSEB definition. How does this quack like a LSEB?

Mortality of our lives - a forum member's health

Sorry to hear, hoping things turn out as best they can. Real life problems have a way of putting things in perspective. I don't think any of us have full appreciation for life or things we take for granted until our own mortality stares us in the face.

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

No, I get that. I can't claim to ride an e-bike that is 100% class compliant, but then, it's not materially different than a class 1, 2 or 3 compliant bike for the majority use case. Not sure you could say that about this bike, well, until there is a PAS option.

Maybe I missed it on the website but where are the details regarding PAS? Only references I can seem to find are in this topic. How far in development? What testing has been done, if any? Estimated cost? Commitment to bringing it to completion? ETA?

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Just seems odd to me to think about this bike as a commuter. Where would you commute legally on this bike? I guess you could wait for PAS and dial it back to make it class 2 or 3, but more realistically you're looking at licensing it as a motorcycle.

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

How power hungry is this motor? I assume you went with the 25ah external battery because you're gonna need it, but honestly that frame doesn't do much for me from a looks standpoint. Would be a lot sexier on a monte capro, I realize that's FS and might not have enough battery capacity, but...

That's encouraging to hear. Perhaps I'm assuming too much based on bike chains. I suppose you're able to use a heavier duty chain and also dial in the alignment better which would also help.

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

No PAS is a head scratcher. Throttle only / pedal input is ignored? I guess if you want something more akin to a motorbike than an ebike. I'm not sure I'm convinced there is much practical redundancy either. If you consider the assist side chain will be most likely to break, can't see...

I'd say completely different animals though. The Valeo would be consumer mainstream and the other enthusiast off-road. Not sure one would be optimal for the other and vice versa.
