Did I kill my mid drive controller?

I have done this twice, wiring up XT60's backwards in a rush, When I connected the battery to the bike, the connector pins melted instantly with a big POW/ZAP. That probably saved the controllers, DId it with a BBS02B and also a hub motor. You must have connected the battery with it switched...

Display cut out and loss of drive

I would diagnose this as a battery issue. One of the internal cell groups is probably low on voltage. When the battery sees a load, the voltage drops under the mininum and the battery turns itself off. It resets when the display powers down. Because we're only talking about a small difference...

Rad Power Bikes may close soon

News reports had RAD's unpaid balance sheet around $40M, so I would say their creditors are getting back 1.7/40 or less than a nickel on the dollar on average.

Rad Power Bikes may close soon

Stuff I never liked about Rad included the early bikes with direct drive hubmotors, and all the fat tire models. I did like their commitment to battery safety, although early results don't seem too good,

Rad Power Bikes may close soon

I read that the winning bid for Rad ebikes was $13.2 million. The winner gets to wipe out the debt that RAD owes, but will still be liable for any future lawsuits, To think that investors put over $330 million into the company.

    Welcome to the 21st century!!!

My new WIn11 PC is a money pit. Not being familiar with what I needed to run the current version of photo and video edit software, I bought a gaming PC. Prices have really jumped. The used Dell machine I bought for my wife last April went from $248 to $359 on amazon. The new Dell I bought after...

From Class 2 to Class 1. How "hard" is it to switch?

WTF, indeed. This was posted in a senior group I frequent on Facebook, and the gummers were cheering about getting those blasted kids on ebikes off their lawn. They all missed the part where if a kid needs a drivers license to ride, then so does everyone else. along with liability insurance, and...

    diy light weight ebike

I downloaded both documents. These are safe. Endi7 should probably include some photos in the posts. The battery build was interesting. I have gone thru most of the same learning curve. My suggestion would be the Panasonic 50S over the 50E that he used. The 50S has over twice the maximum...

    Signs of fall/winter.

It's less than 7 weeks now to the Spring Equinox om March 21. We did get a thaw after New Years, and we've put in 4 rides. although it was under 40F. Normally would have stayed inside. Anyway, time will fly and bulbs will be sprouting by them. When I was much younger, about this time of year, I...

No pedal assist, red light on by the pedals

Throttle still works? Bad pedal sensor, or if it is a two piece unit, the magnet disk got pushed too far away or it's slipping on the pedal shaft, I don't own a Himingway, but have seen the latter happen. Hard to believe they can slip w/o turning with the pedals, but if the plastic deriorates...

    On/Off Switch

This is how I did an anti-spark XT60. Pretty much any resistor should work, but keep it over 5000 ohms. When the switch is turned on, it allows full current to go thru. It can be realized like this. I quit using it though. I'm not having a problem with the XT60's turning black.

Broken motor gear for acbest 27.5 48vlt 1200watt e bike

That's a tough part to look for. Popular motors like AKM and Bafang have parts, but the no name guys are like orphans, I see you marked and counted them, and it looks like 39T, Count the other ones to be sure, Post on a technical nuts and bolts forum like endless sphere too,

Anyone prefer a fixed single-speed ebike?

Nope. Ever since we were 8 years old, we aspired to the 3 speed English Racer over our coaster brake bikes. and later on to the 10 speeds. Our younger siblings had their Schwinn Sting Rays, but the cool kids had the models with shift lever. Shifting gears made biking easier and more fun, With...

    Consumer Reports: Ebike Fires

I managed to see the 1st paragraph before the paywall went up. It read something like ..."The fire started when water entered the facility, Water is known to ignite lithium", If they are that stupid about batteries, no wonder the place catches fires.

    Welcome to the 21st century!!!

We all get another year of free Win 10 support but you have to know your microsoft login to sign up. I did that with mine, but my wife's PC was registered to a long dead email. I could have reloaded her unit with a new user, but switched her to a inexpensive Dell refurb. As for ebikes, I don't...

250 watt motor and 18max current controller?

One more comment on Winter riding with Front wheel drive. You'll find that front wheel spinning like crazy whenever the pavement is slippery. You might think it's OK til you go uphill, and the weight shift will cause it to lose traction too.
