    RAD Power Bikes Going Bust

    What about lawsuits?

Carrying photography gear on a ride

Right. That's $189 I didn't need to spend since I already had a perfectly good MTX2.0 trunk bag. I did not know that I could have gotten a Topeak MIK adapter, but then I would have had the SKS rack/MIK baseplate/MIK Topeak adapter, right? That's one thing too much for me.

The MIK system is really nice. The baseplate came on the Pinarello. If I wasn't already invested in the Topeak MTX, I would have adopted it. As it is, I had to adapt the Topeak baseplate to the SKS rack.

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

So what? I'm a retired electrical engineer. I understand what is being discussed. I have no need for it. Anyone that wants to dive into it at level, have at it. Enjoy it. Embrace it. Live it. For all but folks like them, Bosch provides all an e-bike rider needs to tune their drive unit to their...

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

You can vary the assist%. I didn't say it was exactly the same. I said it can do pretty much the same thing.

Riders and lawmakers must understand the actual regulations and intent....

The class system is used for verification of assist levels. It gives a visual indicator of approval. Don't want any approvals or verification? Fine. Want to leave behavior up to individual responsibility? Fine. Want to rely on enforcement of regulations to maximize safety and minimize damage...

CPSC seeks feedback on revisions to e-bike regulations

Well then, they've done a superbly crappy job with all of that power. States are rushing to limit e-bikes and meanwhile 10,000+ watt 60mph scooters are ignored.

Riders and lawmakers must understand the actual regulations and intent....

Classes are necessary for local and state regulation on their roads and trails, and for racing, where the NGB wants to limit output. How else would you do this?

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

Bosch Smart System does something similar with adjustable pedal dynamics. By reducing dynamics and assistance to Lower, you get pretty much the same thing.

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

As I said above, there are a whole lot of regulations that control when a rider can be hired, their minimum pay, and the terms and conditions around termination of their contract. Also, if he does get released, they'll need a replacement, and there are regulations around that as well. What is...

I did not see it, but it sounds like the same train of thought as in yesterday's race. As I said before, he either had the green light to do it or he didn't. Judging from the shot of his DS in the car, choking on the radio microphone so his lips could not be read, he did not. In the end, it...

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Puncheurs do, climbers and sprinters don't. Organizers and sponsors do, because of the exposure to the crowds. It's why criteriums are the main form of racing in the US.
