If you buy a bike with a Bosch motor, who owns the motor?

' ~$300 before taxes is still a considerable amount. If you have a torque wrench and a cheap bike toolset it can easily be done. That is not the issue though, they charged you labor plus the price of a new motor(actually you can purchase a brand new motor online for a bit less). I also never...

If you buy a bike with a Bosch motor, who owns the motor?

That sounds complete BS. You can purchase a new Bosch motor from an online retailer for that price(~850$) and none of them is an exchange or will ask for an old broken motor to be shipped back. On top that shop charged you ~$400 for labor. Make sure that you keep your old motor.

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

How did you come to this conclusion? What is your method to measure the amount of power motor supplied vs rider input? Those cadence measurements has a significant delay that is the problem. These bottom bracket sensors are not the best for power measurement. Good power meters cost a lot and...

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Imo, the problem you describe is a result of torque sensor not being at the motor axle. If you measure torque at the axle the controller can immediately modulate motor torque accordingly. In this system, gear ratio is not known, that is the controller does not know which cog your derailleur is...

Are mid drives just naturally less zippy than hub motors?

Lol, yeah motors dont have feet. whatever.

Are mid drives just naturally less zippy than hub motors?

I know no such typical definition. Here are some definitions from well known dictionaries "a vehicle with two wheels tandem, handlebars for steering, a saddle seat, and pedals by which it is propelled", "a road vehicle with two wheels that you ride by pushing the pedals with your feet"...

Are mid drives just naturally less zippy than hub motors?

A mid vs hub zippiness thread, lovely! As stated a million times, Hub motor rpm depends on speed , mid motor rpm depends on the cadence. The reason why Hubs feel zippier is most likely a result of the need to change gears with a mid drive to keep it at the right rpm. Most likely the reporter...

My DIY builds: GMAC, BBSHD, 9C RH212, CYC Photon, ToSeven DM01, Grin All Axle

I don't think this is true. Regen braking should not be creating the kind of heat motor generates when climbing a steep hill. Btw regen is nice but the real benefit is braking which is great.

That should solve your issue with non-instantaneous assist feeling compared to your other bikes.

    How many links in chain?

Seems like it is very dusty but dry where you ride. Wax will be perfect.

    How many links in chain?

It is an xtr di2. Use your current chain to get the count. On a side note, I have been waxing my chain for more than a year now and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Undertaking legal actions against Watt Wagons

I don't know the legal side things and I understand the supply chain issues. However I think WW should understand the investor side of things and make sure to refund their money asap. This is really not looking good for you at this point.

    3500-4500$ Ebike, help me choose

I'd get Cannondale. REI is great, I also took a look at the bike in person and it is a well designed bike. With the %10 cash back it is a great deal. I also consider Vado 4.0. Specialized is not less powerful. Torque and power are different notions and torque values can be misleading. Those...

Can no longer charge ST5 - any ideas?

They are all Stromer people and most likely the best place for Stromer work in the US. They do warranty work on Stromers not purchased from them but you will most likely be charged for labor. You should get in touch with them and Stromer us to see what can be done. Your battery problem is most...

Can no longer charge ST5 - any ideas?

Take it to New Wheel if you can. Also as others said the pins on the connector is likely the problem. Photos can help.

Given the difficulties finding spare parts, why would a US buyer buy anything other than Bosch?

I am not asking for your thoughts here, where exactly is written that Bosch covers for warranty work even from an LBS that you have not purchased the bike from. Or do you have an invoice that shows that labor is compensated by Bosch? I actually talked to several LBS selling Bosch and they told...

Given the difficulties finding spare parts, why would a US buyer buy anything other than Bosch?

This is not say anything about the shop promising to cover labor costs they just told you that they will see what can be done. What is your point? And you purchased a new bike from them before they heard back from bosch according to your other thread. And if you are claiming that Bosch now...

Given the difficulties finding spare parts, why would a US buyer buy anything other than Bosch?

What does it matter when they start? Did they specifically tell you that they will do it for free in the beginning ? After you purchased a bike from them they didn't charge you for your current bike. You just said that it is ok to charge for software updates because it is their time now...
