When I got my 4.0 Vado SL step-through a couple of weeks ago there were 3 black plastic objects included with the documentation. Two were identical and I figured out they are for protecting the brake pads from inadvertently closing when a wheel is taken off. Don't know what the 3rd object is...

Stefan, Do you feel the raised area in the middle of the pedals? The shoes I wear are flat on the bottom, so I like the idea of a flat pedal.

I have a new Vado Sl 4.0 step-through with the SRAM 11 speed. Compared to my non electric hybrid 3 x 8 with Shimano Deore, the shifting is noisier, a bit of a clunk when downshifting, but no grinding. I haven't had a chance to see if it is the same with the motor off. I do ease off when...

The step through does not have mounting points on the seat tube like the regular Vado Sl. It does have two sets of mounting points so one set is likely meant for the range extender. Hard to believe they wouldn't have a cable long enough to reach.

Did your bike come with the Mastermind TCU or the older TCU that just shows battery level? And are the indicators and pin function on mission control so you would need to ride with your phone?
