Electric Bike Review Riders Club on Strava

Hey, my week still has almost 7 hours left! :) I planned to ride today, but partly sunny with 20% chance of rain turned into dreary all day drizzle - so have to be content with working on the bike instead. Was hoping to test and tune the new seatpost, saddle, and pedals I put on but that will...

2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Beautiful photos! I think the highest cadence I've recorded was 143. 157 is serious spinning. I did hit a low 10 rpm during a ride this week :)

@dodgeman 's driveway looks like a tractor(or pickup) and plow situation to me. My dad in his mid 80's still plows the driveway religiously.

3 New 04 Yamaha YDX Moro 07 Special Editions

I'm not a Moro owner, but doesn't Yamaha use Praxis cranks? If so, unless they have some unique OEM version, those ISIS cranks are self extracting. Use the 8mm (with a lot of force, maybe even a pipe extension on your wrench) to remove the crank. The larger M24 bolt is the extractor and is...

Thanks! Probably at least 85% was 'commuting', but I try to add an extra 5-15 miles on the way home whenever I can get away with it. My thing has been to try ride 'new' streets whenever I can - I've biked 44% of Seattle's 1963 miles of roads so far. One of my main justifications for getting...

Closed out 2024 with a couple dark commutes and ended with just over 4500mi ridden. Here's to a great 2025 for everyone !

Yes, Strava got it right. I think that I recorded it natively in both at the time, but I can't really remember.

Like this time going through a mile long tunnel and I mysteriously showed an extra 5000ft of gain from RWGPS even though the upper end of the tunnel is only about 25ft higher than the lower end.

    Never see this before....

We had to re-straighten the right handlebar occasionally after taking people out on their first ride. Being the 'passenger' was actually harder than being the driver for most people. I always thought that it should've been a 2x so 1 person could control the front derailleur and the other the...

    Never see this before....

No info on the derailleur, but we had one of those bikes back in the 80's. Fun to ride, but unwieldy. If there is much weight imbalance you have to ride at an angle to keep the center of gravity, then you have a really tight turning radius in 1 direction and a large radius in the other or...

Some of you may know I took a spill a few weeks ago on some ice. I was commuting in to work on my new road ebike with its 700x32 slicks because I had the other bike out of rotation for new tires/chain and to repair the rack. Anyways, took a pretty good bruise to my hip and my ribs that took...

That's not atypical with what I see with rides imported to Strava/RWGPS. RWGPS definitely does some error correcting to the imported data. They've stated that this correction may not improve accuracy in all situations, but they keep it consistent because trying different algorithms for...

Not! Maybe if it were a sunny dry day I would sneak out for an hour in the afternoon, but the forecast calls for 100% chance of rain and 1.4" of it - which means actual rain, not just the usual drizzle. My personal batteries need recharging more than the bike's batteries need discharging.

My only question is - Do you mount your graphing calculator to the handlebars or does it fit in your pockets? :)

Looking for other bike makers that have an offering similar to Trek Verve+ 4S.

Gazelle and Specialized Como come to mind first with similar bikes.

Do you really need to torque a through axle?

Did yours not come with some grease or antiseize paste already applied? The Praxis crank arms I installed a few weeks ago did.
