    Step thru XP 2.0

Bought two of the XP 2.0st ebikes for last Christmas for myself and wife. Now the 3.0 is coming out, with a couple of good improvements, but nothing that you can't do with aftermarket items from Amazon. Biggest improvements: 11/34 freewheel ($30), folding wire basket ($30), wireless alarm...

    XP 3.0

Some folks have complained about the key location. I leave the key in and on, as there is apparently zero drain. I use the Lectric foldylock and also an aftermarket wireless alarm because I suspect the presence or absence of the battery key wouldn't make much difference to a thief. I also...

    XP 3.0

YES! Excellent incremental improvements. --11-tooth high gear: Very much needed, but they might have gone to the excellent 11-34 freewheel to make it easier on the low end also. --suspension fork: Feh, just an incremental increase in travel. Far better to get the suspension post, in my...

Is a Slime Seal (Tube) Permanent?

I use "Flat-Out," which is supposed to be a "Slime 2.0," an improved product. Even so, I would never trust a hole temporarily plugged with goo. But a patch is forever.

    E-Scooters E-Skateboards E-Unicycles

Friend of mine is an emergency-room doc. He says young males are great organ donors. A combination of a lack of wisdom and testosterone poisoning. I rode a large Honda motorcycle on LA freeways back in my 20's, rode all over the western US for that matter, but I was a conservative rider...

Do ebikes get more flats ?

Schrader versus Presta I think is just a cultural thing, like having a steering wheel on the left or the right. My wife puts ketchup on her hot dog; she would be accosted doing such a thing on the streets of Manhattan.

Noise from rear hub when going 21mph+

FOUND IT. A few minutes ago I found an old car-washing sponge (bigger than a kitchen sponge) and folded it in half and jammed it into the small space between the top of the rear fender and the luggage rack an inch or so above it. Noise is now gone! So in my case, at least, I think at about...

Do ebikes get more flats ?

Bought a couple of Lectric XP 2.0st bikes last Christmas, within a few weeks put some FlatOut in all four tubes, haven't had to add air to the inner tubes since then (8 months). Tires are 20" x 3". As I recall I needed to temporarily remove the Schrader valves to get the sealant to go in...

Noise from rear hub when going 21mph+

I note on my st that there is a "buzzing" coming from the rear at around 11mph (calibrated, not stock LCD setting). To me it sounds exactly like sympathetic vibrations in the rear fender at a particular frequency. Should be easy to verify by just stuffing a rag or towel in-between the fender...

A lock for my new ebike

Lots of YouTube videos showing how fast it is for someone to use an angle grinder to get through almost anything in just a few seconds. Which is why I recommend two things: (1) an alarm and (2) spray-painting a part of the bike dayglow orange, so it stands apart. Of course, if the bike is...

    An Old Newbie

Wow, wasn't ready for that, so sorry for your loss. I really identified, I'm also 72 and rode extensively as a young man. We bought ourselves two of the Lectric XP step through e-bikes for Christmas presents last year and just love them. I discovered very early on that I did not like at all the...

Adding a child seat to the XP 2.0

Bought two of these XP 2.0 st models last Christmas and we love them. I've added a couple of bolt-ons on mine; the most recent is a pair of rear footpegs and a rear seat. It makes sense--the XP can carry an extraordinary amount of weight (330lbs, I think) and the luggage rack in back is rated...

Is it possible to attach a doggie cart to an XP Step Through?

Funny that two threads on this topic should come up at the same time. This link is from the other thread. Bought two of these last January for just under $100 at Amazon, they're a bit more now, but very light and excellent. Can be used as a doggie carrier (flat floor, just throw in a blanket)...

Pet trailer attachment on XP 2.0 step-thru?

Bought a couple of cheap but excellent stroller/trailers a few months back, the mounting post fits fine on my XP 2.0 st. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RD89GFC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My 1000w motor journey and fear mongering by users of the forum!

It seems the original thread starter doesn't understand the concept of power. "500w" or "1000w" are not very relevant claims. Just take your battery voltage and multiply it by the maximum current your controller can output and that will give you the total number of Watts. my Lectric is 48v and...

Noise from rear hub when going 21mph+

I don't doubt your experience but what is it that goes wrong with the bikes you've worked on? It's just a generic 7-speed bicycle, like a hundred million others. Nothing exotic so a bit heavier than, say, carbon fiber, but on our two Step-through bikes the brakes and shifter work flawlessly...

My nightmarish experience with Rad Power.

Pretty impressive battery fire. I guess the problem was that it was impossible to get the cooling water inside the pack, where it could have stopped the progression from cell to cell. Had to laugh at the comment about the LBS trashing Lectric bikes. Yeah, like they don't get any commission on...

Noise from rear hub when going 21mph+

Okay, I've tried to hear what you're talking about, and at top speed all I hear is the high pitch of the motor gearset--and a rapid clicking, which is about the speed of the rotating wheel. My assumption at this point is that the brake rotor is touching the pad. Is this clicking the noise...

    XPremium tannus armour inserts

I've done Slime in the past, but there are YouTube videos out that show FlatOut is like Slime 2.0, with superior sealing and handling properties. We've put FlatOut in both our XP 2.0 st bikes but it's only been 6 months. Nonetheless, tires are perfect so far.

Are there authorized Lectric repair operations (stores or mobile)?

Our XP 2.0 st bikes are extremely ordinary in terms of bicycle components, but I suspect bike shops sniff at them because they get totally cut out of any purchase profits. Not sure what a mobile van could accomplish except maybe educate the bike shops and provide exposure. But perhaps there...
