Has anyone retrofitted an Eviolo Automatiq?

Was very close to chopping the bike based on scrambler's excellent suggestions. Ultimately I chickened out. Most frames seem to allow space for such a device, including Gazelle's new Eclipse. Been riding a traditional gravel bike these days.

DJI vs Bosch vs Pinion: Unbelievable Difference!!

If it's just torque that can assist with climbing, I'm all for it. There are a few roads near me that my 75 nm Bosch motor just cannot handle.

You're as old as you feel! Paul McCartney just turned 82 and he's still touring and putting on incredible shows. Happy belated! Exactly! Or would that speed make a crash more likely, and put me under a car?

I love that you’re biking. I hear every day that people in their 60s are too old to bike. It’s utter nonsense! I’m in my 30s but share the same feeling about class 3. It might be nice for short bursts, but I have no interest in cruising at 25-28 mph on a bike.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Full size Vado is 58 lbs (with battery?) 45 lbs is already super heavy and unwieldy for stairs given the awkward form factor of a bike. Full size would be about 13-18 lbs more, but with a 50, 75, or 90 nm motor versus a 50 in the SL. SL looks so cool though.. IMO the carbon fiber amplifies the...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Dig: look of the frame, wide tires, FindMy built in, MIK HD rack with lightbar Pass: carbon only (city bike that will be banged up), starting at $6k, colors "sold out" instantly - only black. A city bike should have widely available bright colors, imo.

Can anyone compare yamaha motor characteristics to bosch and brose?

56 actually, inseam 89.5 cm. It's similar to the Diverge which you can likely find anywhere, but slightly more stretched out. I shortened the stem to 90 and flipped it.

    interesting new garmin radar data

I'm so sick of drivers nowadays. They are by far the most entitled and indifferent set of people I run into in daily life, while also being the most lethal. Whether I'm behind the wheel, on foot, or on a bike, drivers are always the issue. We have a city limit of 25 mph, which is really too fast...

    interesting new garmin radar data

Love the Varia and totally agree that it's a great device for increasing visibility. My eyes are drawn to them on the road when I drive, even during the day. Really wish the app would allow support for multiple Varias. Huge miss that it doesn't especially since they offer a hardwired version...

Recommendations for mid-drive and belt drive

I like the Brose motor on that Ride1Up model. Very powerful and very quiet. That it runs a 2.25" wide tire is another nice benefit for comfort. Not sure how reliability or service is with those bikes. Design looks really nice too. The Zen founder is active on these forums and seems to stand...

    Convert belt-drive to derailleur?

Yeah unfortunately the design of this bike doesn’t allow the Automatiq. I made a thread and tried it. The rear rack mounting and the (set screws for calibrating alignment? Still confused on the purpose of those) are both are in the way. Looked at a bunch of other bikes from Tern, Spec, R&M and...

    Convert belt-drive to derailleur?

This is really helpful, thank you! The bike is the current C380 HMB (2023-) model with Smart System Performance Line.

    Convert belt-drive to derailleur?

Has anyone converted a belt drive bike to derailleur? I have a C380 Gazelle Ultimate. I'm assuming it should be a matter of swapping for components used in their Ultimate T10 model, but wouldn't be surprised if there is some minor detail that makes it impossible. The twist shift just doesn't...

How do you all use your E-BIKES? Do you go out riding with friends or do you enjoy the experience on your own?

Riding with friends and neighbors is always my preference, so long as we cover a little distance (5-10 miles+). None of us are “cyclists” we just enjoy getting around on bikes and exploring our city. 70/30 split between solo and with company.

Wouldn’t buy anything with a twist shift again. I’ve tweaked by wrist on the Enviolo on numerous occasions. It’s not an ergonomic motion. Never had that problem with traditional shifting, etap, rohloff button press, etc.

Moving from Vado SL EQ to Creo 2

This is true. The Creo buttons suck. They are way too chunky and don't fit nicely anywhere. The electronic shifters are perfect. They should have piggybacked on that system or made them equally slim. The +/- shifter on the full size Vado is super slim and also a great solution with the haptic...

Moving from Vado SL EQ to Creo 2

Did you buy the Quick Rack recently? It really does work great. Almost spent $700 on the Tailfin, and glad I didn't. The Quickrack hits all the requirements while looking good too.

EBR made me do it! (new Vado SL 5.0 EQ)

Great choice! The EQ model will be so handy. I've come to dislike charging my standalone bike lights more than e-bikes. I think you'll like the flat bar geometry a lot more than the drops. Love the high vis color too! IIRC the Vado SL 5.0 comes tubeless ready? That'll give another nice boost to...

    Not buying Specialized ebikes again.

It likely does vary from store to store, as others have said. Another example is they shared some clear disdain for e-bikes, and belt drive in general on test rides. I approach bicycles from a commuter, get around town, leave the car at home, explore all the nooks and crannies, pickup...
