Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH Cadence Survey

So I tried setting the cadence in my Enviolo app from 80rpm to 70rpm on the ride home today. There was no discernable difference in bike speeds. Then when I got home, I opened the Enviolo app again, and it had been reset to 80rpm! There is no "save" function in the app, so either the app or...

Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH Cadence Survey

Do you have to manually set the cadence through the Enviolo app every time you restart the bike? I was able to reduce the cadence, but the setting resets when I power off the bike, and the Enviolo returns to the default cadence setting (80 rpm). If you don't have to reset, how do you save the...

Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH Cadence Survey

I'll chime in since I've installed a PearTune and can finally get up to 45 kmh (28 mph). To get to that speed, I need a cadence of about 95-100 rpm. This usually happens going downhill.

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

It just occurred to me that I could probably seal up the tiny holes in the wires using a hot glue gun. If I have any check radar errors in the rain going forward, I may open it up and give that a shot before replacing the wiring harness. Edit: my brother who is a mechanic said to just put...

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

So I opened up the motor housing today in order to put some shrink tubing over the large connectors, since I didn't have the appropriate size when I first installed. While doing so, I noticed that two of the wires (blue and red) from the original bike connector had been squished, creating a...

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

Good point. Though I'm getting a radar error versus a motor error, so I guess there is a chance it could still be a different issue. At any rate, I'm going to apply heat shrink tube to the larger connector that I wasn't able to cover during the initial install :) The two this happened to me...

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

Do you mean it doesn't get wet in the motor housing? I'm pretty sure it can get wet in there - both my LBS as well as PearTune have told me this. :)

Instructions for PearTune 4.0 MSO on 2022 Turbo Vado

I've recently installed the PearTune MSO Tuning e-bike Specialized 2.0E/2.1/2.2 (https://www.pear-control.com/peartune-mso-tuning-elektrokola-specialized-2-1-2-2) on my 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH, and wanted to share some information about my experience that I hope will help others who install this...

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

On the 2022 Vado, the PearTune is actually in the motor housing (we don't have any controller on the top tube, it's just the mastermind TCU mounted on the handlebars). :)

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

Yes, this is a possibility. It was raining both times this happened. It wasn't raining today, and I didn't get an error today. All of the PearTune connections are within the motor housing. There are only two connections that aren't present in the stock Specialized design. These two...

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

Does your motor stop working for a few seconds when that happens?

"Radar error check app" on 2022 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH

Hi, I've recently received two "radar error check app" errors on my 2022 Vado 5.0 IGH. This happened yesterday and today on my commute to work. It was raining both days, but I live in Vancouver and it rains frequently, and this is the first time I have received the error. (Actually, it may...

Dumb question: which way do I turn wrench to remove crank arm on 2022 Vado 5.0?

I am not sure! But I did set the chip to automatically start when the bike starts, so hopefully that will have the same effect as Always On.

Dumb question: which way do I turn wrench to remove crank arm on 2022 Vado 5.0?

On my bike, I do not have a dedicated walk button. Instead, the + is the walk mode button. So perhaps the PearTune works a bit differently on my bike? I know that entering the chip service menu is different on my bike than others... For example, my bike definitely works differently than shown...

Dumb question: which way do I turn wrench to remove crank arm on 2022 Vado 5.0?

Oh, interesting! I had only tried it while stopped. I'll give that a try on the ride home today. I assume this only works when you're in Turbo mode then? (otherwise, + would just change your assist level).

Dumb question: which way do I turn wrench to remove crank arm on 2022 Vado 5.0?

Hi, thanks again for your advice. I commuted into work this morning, and just wanted to follow up. So when I first started up my bike this morning, I couldn't get the walk button to do anything except to change the assist level, and start the bike in walk mode. So, I pressed the light button...

Dumb question: which way do I turn wrench to remove crank arm on 2022 Vado 5.0?

So I rode the bike into work today. I still couldn't figure out how to enable/disable the PearTune, but I did press the light button, and then +/- 10 times, and confirmed that my maximum speed was set to 45 kmh. As soon as I got onto a section with a longish stretch (no stops or turns), I...

Dumb question: which way do I turn wrench to remove crank arm on 2022 Vado 5.0?

Thanks for your quick reply! I did press the walk button for 1 second, and it just kept saying 0. But after playing around with it for about 30 minutes, and watching their YouTube video, I found out that I can press F1 (the top button that controls the light), and then I can press +-+-+-+-+-...

Dumb question: which way do I turn wrench to remove crank arm on 2022 Vado 5.0?

Hi, I've now installed the peartune, but cannot figure out how to activate it! Could you tell me what buttons you press to do this? Thanks!
