    Brian's CCX Journal

was there a stocking fee stated somewhere when you purchased the bike? I have a CCS and have had some issues but for the most part no battery issues and I like my bike. but for a brand new model, to have a big flaw on a custom made battery then need to own up to it. they put you in a hard...

Almost a year and about 2k (?) miles with the CCS. A quick visit to update:

I am @2500+ miles as well a little over a year with my CCS. Added after market handle bars and added a bunch of LEDs for extra visibility at night. The CCS is a tank! Co workers like it and comment about it often. And i love it when i blow by class 2 and Porsches sitting in traffic! I just...

Chain Keeper on the CCX can it be sold separately?

the chain spy doesn't work well on the CCS because of the geometry down there. The fender and the battery with this design doesn't make the thing install properly. :/

Chain Keeper on the CCX can it be sold separately?

@toraharris can the chain keeper be sold separately? I have a CCS with chain dropping issues and I noticed in the pics for the CCX that there is a chain keeper on it. can you add this to the accessories for sale? I would love to try it! thanks Andy

Thinking strongly about ordering the CCX

yeah but it fit my requirements. Peace of mind goes a long way. Plus it was a full face helmet with enough venting to work in the winter (in LA) and in the summer. I only have one face. :) A

Thinking strongly about ordering the CCX

I have a CCS which I commute 4-5 days a week. I love it. But the speed is a plus and minus for me. The plus is i can almost keep up with traffic, and blow by class 2 bikes pretty easily on my swift commute to work. The minus is the speed as far as a safety concern for my body. I only wear...

    Affordable class 3 ebikes?

At least in California, Class 3 is roughly defined as throttle assists up to 20 mph, and pedal assist to 28. With a motor of 750 W on the high end. To be a legal ebike. If you expect to get a class 3 that gives you throttle assist up to 28 mph you might have misunderstood the underlying...

commuting jacket "armor" type stuff? road rash protection?

just so happens that the specialized store around the corner was having a TLD pop-up store and I got the new Stages helmet! its pricey but I feel much more protected! I'll take some pics this weekend. but its a really nice helmet. Indianajo, sorry about your wreck..... hopefully you have...

commuting jacket "armor" type stuff? road rash protection?

good point, but my goal in the morning is not to overheat. I don't want to be a sweaty mess when I get to work. Normally, I let the bike do most of the work in the a.m. I usually crank it up and sweat on the way home. :)

commuting jacket "armor" type stuff? road rash protection?

yeah i have a ton of lights on my bike for both seeing things and to be seen. (LEDS lining the frame as well). Reflective side wall tires, and my new favorite the Orp horn! i'll be adding a helmet and that is a great link for Bohnarmor! I that will fit nicely under my lightweight jacket!

commuting jacket "armor" type stuff? road rash protection?

yeah I don't need a heated jacket, but I am considering a full helmet like the troy lee designs Stage helmet. I do wear full finger gloves. I have an REI jacket cycle jacket that I layer with a sweat shirt in the winter that is a good balance between ventilation and heat retention. I'd just...

commuting jacket "armor" type stuff? road rash protection?

hey everyone, As winter is coming I am gearing up with a new set of tires and gloves. (doesn't get that cold here in LA) but there are a lot of stupid people. I was wondering if there is any type of ebike equivalent to a motorcycle jacket with some pads for road rash protection. I'm not...

    GoPro Style Safety Camera Reccos...

Can anyone recommend a GoPro style camera and helmet mount? I just had a run in the other day on my commute home with a super aggro driver. I was thinking of getting something cost effective to mount on my helmet to document my trips to and from work... just in case. thanks in advanced. Andy
