    Lithium Battery charging.

If you are charging the battery so that the BMS is monitoring everything, you should be fine as long as you stay within the current and voltage limits. Battery cycle counts are based on full cycles, not partial cycles, so say you discharge your battery to 50% on part of a ride, charge a while to...

I remember that day like it was yesterday. I lived in Albany, OR at the time and was headed to Battle Ground, WA for a wedding. The main church doors opened directly to a perfect view of the erupting mountain. A few days later we had a light dusting of ash in Albany. It had reached the jet...

I know there are places between Longview and the greater Portland area where I have seen Mt. Adams but I don't remember where I was exactly. Maybe @fooferdoggie knows where Mt. Adams is visible from the Portland area.

That isn't Mt. St. Helens, that looks like Silverstar east of Battle Ground, WA. Mt. St. Helens has its flanks completely covered in snow right now. I couldn't get a picture of it today while I was on I-5 today as I was the only one in the car. FWIW, when I lived in Battle Ground we knew when...

That HP 41C calculator was sure an unexpected sight! The old HP calculators of similar design are nearly indestructible. I had a student forget their loaner HP 48G on the roof of their car. It fell off in the school parking lot and got run over. Even with the dent/bulge from a rock being under...

    Pedego PAS Design

I stopped by the Sequim Pedego Dealer on Tuesday. I asked about the issues we are having with the Avenue PAS and was told that Pedego is working on controller firmware updates to address the issues. There are at least four that I'm aware of: over-speeding the PAS setting, not reducing the PAS...

Several years ago, one of my neighbor's trees blew down on the power lines feeding my area and took out 11 power poles in the 1.4 miles below me and an unknown number beyond my house. We were without power for several days while the power company replaced all the broken poles and restrung new...

A goal would be to have people choose to no longer purchase ICE vehicles, legislating a ban is a completely different thing, not a goal, and is a definite dis-incentive for a large portion of the population. The best incentive would be to stop subsidizing the oil industry and the EV industry...

Things like the ban on the sale of new ICE vehicles, the various money incentives to get people to buy EVs, people telling others, in various ways, that they are somehow bad people if they don't embrace an emissions free transportation. Naturally, everyone won't see thing the same way, but when...

The push to electric transportation has become ridiculous. It is to the point where it will continue, just let people decide when/if they want to get an EV. It will happen in time, and give the grid a chance to build-out the necessary capacity and infrastructure. EVs aren't for everyone in every...

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

LOL, you really don't want to take the accepted definition of an atoll, do you? An island is a piece of land surrounded by water. It doesn't matter how small that island is, is still fits the definition of an island. Note in the definition of an atoll below that island and chain of islands...

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

Majuro is an atoll, but did you look up the definition of an atoll? An atoll is a type of island. My statement is still correct.

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

When I lived on the Island of Majuro (7.142629, 171.036910), twilight was very short compared to here in SW Washington state. Once the sun went down you had maybe 30 minutes until it was totally dark. The daylight varied from about 11:40 to 12:30 from one extreme to the other.

There is a Level 2 charge station at the Battle Ground Rest Area on I-5 North in Washington, just a few miles north of Portland, OR. Upon reading the link it appears that EV charging isn't prohibited, it is that the sale of the energy is prohibited. This explains why this is one station on the...

My 2023 Kia Niro EV is included, too. I don't have any EVgo stations near me but on a trip this weekend I was able to link my Niro to the one EVgo station on my route and it worked like a charm on the way back! Just plugged in and it started charging.

You can typically lease for a while and then buy out the lease. I've heard of some who leased, then bought out the lease before the first payment was due.

Pedego Element Review (20" Fat Bike)

I wonder if the Element you test rode was the previous version to the one I purchased. If the one you test rode looked like this (screen captured from ): then you tried an older version. Note the battery location. This is the one I have: While the ride is definitely different than what I get...

Support level question on Pedego bikes.

As @foleymo stated above, the throttle also works in all PAS levels 1-6. PAS 0 has no assist or throttle. What I experience is that the slower you go below the PAS cut-off threshold, the more assist the motor gives. Anything over a given PAS assist speed is 100% rider power. The bike is very...
