    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

Good thread. I have to say I'm amazed they can make a better motor than my 1.1 for SL4. It's got almost 6k miles on it, never given me an issue and requires zero maintenance. I'd be interested to look inside one after this many miles to see if there is any wear. Would also like to see...

    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

Quieter and more efficiency is good but I don't want more power. I like my SL at 35nm.

Replacing The Coin Battery In the Specialized SL TCU Gen 1

OK - got it out. I got some plastic tweezers from Amazon but they can't reach in far enough to get a grip. I used a jewelers screw drive (yes - practially the size of a big needle) and stuck it down the side of the battery and gently 'rolled' it out. The little metal pin in front of the...

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

'More SAFE is not necessarily better than less SAFE which was already SAFE'. :) So if given the choice Kahn - you'd choose less safe? Anyway, I agree there are degrees of safety. Just playing devils advocate. Any lawyer would have a field day on a case where a rider was injured by an RE...

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

So my RE is unsafe? I haven't updated. Seems hard to believe that an update making something more safe wouldn't be addressed by a recall type event by Specialized.

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

I can't imagine doing any firmware update to my 14 month old SL4. It's never given me any issue and just turned 5k miles. I'd consider updating my RE batt but can anyone tell me if the update makes a difference in performance or longevity?

New motor or new Vado SL

I thought there was no belt in an SL motor - only straight Vado.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Congratulations on your new favorite bike. When I bought my SL I equated the 'mode' switch on the handlebar with effort. If I needed help - press it. But I was so wrong. Really, for me anyway, it's a speed switch. And that's because having an SL has never reduced my effort. I'm still...

Dry run with my DIY rack On Vado SL

Wow - that's some beautiful scenery! 50's? Those are widest I've seen on an SL. Hope you have enough clearance for mud. But doesn't look like you'll ever run into that. :)

Vado SL 5.0 saddle isn't comfortable

I'm the one guy that likes the SL stock saddle. It's light, padded well, and has a pressure relief channel like higher end seats. I wear padded shorts so maybe that's another reason I'm OK with it. Really though, I've had a lot of different saddles and no matter the design - if I ride 60k+...

    2022 Vado SL 4.0 Dead

Seems crazy to me that water got in to the frame. I've been caught out on a couple really rainy rides on my SL and no issues. I do dry it well after.

    Charging question - don't overcharge?

I left my SL charging for a week and now Blevo says I can go 300 miles in ECO mode. :)

    Charging question - don't overcharge?

I don't think anyone under the expectation to get battery exactly at 80%. And it's not difficult to get it in that general range.

    Charging question - don't overcharge?

I'll chime in. 4000 miles on my SL. And I have/use range extender. I only charge to 100% if I'm going to ride immediately after the charge and only if I need the battery full due to really long ride. I don't charge to 100% if I know the bike will sit or I might just be doing a shorter ride...

    Firmware updates..............again!

Typically, firmware updates come with small explanation. Do you know if the updates were directed at something to do with shifting? Did you ask the LBS about what the updates were for?
