    Summer Rides '16

Summer gets most of us on the ebike, some for the first time. Share a highlight experience from the Summer, or maybe a humbling one.... For me, I got a new (2014 demo) Focus S10 speed pedelec in May. After a month of rain in Maryland, I got a perfectly sunny day for a full commute to work...

Optibike 1100R Commuting Data, Summer 2012

Robert, I just saw this, sorry to reply so late. You are on the right track and I agree a cell is dropping out most likely. Once the 36V battery hit 34V, it would go into safe mode. A hard slug of current will drop voltage in a bad cell like a hot potato. An external battery would work...

Trek Super Commuter (SuperCommuter) (comparison to XM700+)

See pics with aeros here: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/optibike-1100r-commuting-data-summer-2012.480/ I had to *cut* the bars and add a wooden dowel extender. It made the aeros a tad wider and more comfortable, yet kept my head down and shoulders relaxed, with a good power...

Trek Super Commuter (SuperCommuter) (comparison to XM700+)

PS. Fork with lockout allows for an on-the-fly active suspension when needed, and a stiff fork when road is ok. If you bike is under 50lbs, then maybe going all stiff is fine up to 25mph. If over 50lbs and up, with bigger battery and heavy ddhub, why not a couple extra lbs for a nice air fork ?

Trek Super Commuter (SuperCommuter) (comparison to XM700+)

Ravi, I am glad you had some carbon dampening, wow. You can add aero bars to a flat bar as well. I did that with my Optibike, and wire din a throttle. It was great to ride on the elbows. Road bike curved drop bars offer a better grip of the hood brakes and have less stress on wrists. But...

It is a nice looking mid drive with the motor integrated tight. Id like to see more specs.

High speed pedelecs >>> get a nice air fork with lockout! Come on people, are we not learning anything about high speed, long haul riding? Ok, *IF* Ravi gets on here and debunks my assertion based upon him riding 5100 miles on an ST2 with a rigid fork, then I will take that back. But my...

    Geo Orbital Wheel

So what happens if a small rock gets lodged between the rim and one of those rollers? Instant stop and go flying? Conventional wheel has spokes and the spokes give or break the object.

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Hello Voltbike, I like your 750W upgrade for 2016. Q. Any chance or way to upgrade the front light? My son's (stolen) 2015 Yukon had the light and it was not a rugged light and broke off easily. Also, it was not bright at all.

btw, what are the requirements ? Time limit one year? No drafting, check. Throttle vs PAS matter?

Falco build on Specialized Hardrock, vintage 1990's.

Yes, those grips are mounted in reverse. Story: I had to swap handlebars for this bike and I slit the grip down the middle for time sake, thinking i'd get new grip. Due to time, I reused the old ones but flipped them 180 and used glue. Lame, I agree, but it works for college.
