Is all haibike e mtbks upgradable?

This is a very loaded question, I will try to answer. First, yes, you can buy a new fork or a rear shock. The front fork replacement offers the maximum net benefit provided you buy a really good one. Any other part of your bike except the frame/motor/electricals can be easily replaced. You...

    Haibike Flyon......2019

Some of my thoughts on the FlyON (fairly obvious stuff actually): 5000 lumens seems like either marketing gimmick or an error. My Supernova with 1100/1600 lumens already burns out the eyes, and burns plenty of lithium, too. You don't need 5000 lumens, period. Magura brakes with rotor-integrated...

My Review of the Riese & Müller Delite GX Rohloff

On the front, I went from 100mm Suntour to 120mm Fox, not a major change and no change in bike geometry (both forks are same size). On the rear, I didn't add any travel — this is in fact impossible because the rear bracket is defined specifically for a 6.5×1.5 shock and any change to that would...

Can I replace a Bosch chainring/Miranda bashguard with a Haibike chainring?

Apparently I cannot do this because there's no Haibike sprocket with 22T.

My Review of the Riese & Müller Delite GX Rohloff

I think I've finally reached the endgame as far as this bike is concerned:

Adding an aftermarket chainguard to Bosch e-bike

Thanks for clarifying. Another question if I may — is this chainguard designed for a specific horizontal angle of the chain? In your photo, it looks like the top part of the chain is going up at an angle, but the rear suspension will change that angle and I assume the cover has enough space...

Adding an aftermarket chainguard to Bosch e-bike

Says here it's for "BOSCH Drive unit 2014", I assume you don't have a 2014 motor, right? Performance 3rd gen, 2017ish, by the looks of it.

Adding an aftermarket chainguard to Bosch e-bike

These sorts of chainguards work a lot better when you have a fixed chain (e.g., a hub), not a derailleur. I'm not sure how they work with a derailleur.

New Bafang Ultra - 1000W Torque sensored motor!

But honestly why would you want 2.5kW over 1kW? I mean, we use 250-350W motors that are just fine for like 99% of uses apart from really niche ones.

    Where to buy my battery?

Depending on your budget, you might want to consider a custom-built battery. Plenty of companies make custom-made ebike batteries; you can send them your bike schematics and requirements and they will give you options regarding batteries, BMS, charger and other things.

Cannot find the main drive bearing on 2nd Gen motor

Thank you! However, I think I speak for everyone on this forum when I say... we don't have industrial presses sitting at home, and applying 2.5t of pressure on a bearing to push it in is unrealistic task unless you have specialized equipment.

Can I replace a Bosch chainring/Miranda bashguard with a Haibike chainring?

I'm really tired of Miranda bashguards on my Bosch bikes. They are made of thin aluminum and a direct impact just bends it inwards onto the chain. Not good. So I was thinking — Haibike make a proprietary Xduro Sprocket which integrates both the chainring and bashguard. Would I be able to install...

Does anyone here own a 2018 R&M Supercharger GX Rohloff HS?

Just de-restrict your bike. My Delite GX Rohloff is rated for 25kph but derestricted I can reach up to about 55kph. And yes, the Rohloff handles it just fine. The mechanical Rohloff shifter leaves a lot to be desired: its cables get damaged at bending points, shifting is very imprecise, it...

    Chain Life

After a few recent rides I've noticed my chain sagging quite a lot and, despite the measurement tool telling me my chain was fine, I decided to replace it. This time round, instead of an ordinary KMC X1 chain I decided to go for the 'cargo' Wipperman Connex 7E8. This chain is heavy (500g-ish)...

Fatbike wheel in a 27.5+ fork (experience report)

Actually, I now realize that a much simpler solution to the problem of scraping spokes is to simply choosing more narrow rims, e.g., 52mm ZTR Hugo rims.

    Delite GX Rohloff chain tension

This could actually be a fun experiment to do. I found the pulley wheel itself sold here (if you were to go for the same model), and then there's the proprietary screw (large flange) that may or may not be compatible with the Delite. But looking at the sprocket I think it might be too large...

Dual motor. Mid and rear drive on RadWagon

Won't the two motors compete if turned on simultaneously? Also, doubling the power should theoretically double the stress on the wheel -- how is this handled? Speaking of two-motor systems, one observation I made is that 2WD systems (rear and front hub drives) typically add very little to...

Any idea when Bosch PowerTube 500 wh replacement batteries can be ordered in USA?

Think of the entire proprietary ebike battery business as a big racket. Overpriced, incompatible batteries. Luckily, Yamaha was defeated. Maybe eventually Bosch will be reversed too.

Fatbike wheel in a 27.5+ fork (experience report)

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share the results of an experiment I did -- putting a fatbike wheel into a non-fatbike fork of my R&M Delite. As you may or may not know, the choice of forks for fatbikes is really limited: there's basically Manitou Mastodon (the best option), RockShox Bluto (the OEM...
