    Wave E-bike 499$ (another Storm/Indiegogo)

I bought the Kickstarter Dillenger Cheetah folding bike. Yesterday I got an email that it shipped and UPS has it arriving next week. Always assumed it would be underwhelming but a pretty cheap entry to try out an e-bike. I paid $442 for it, including panniers, extra battery and shipping, so I...

    MAC 500W 8T Conversion

Wow. That is a steal. Would love to know how it works out and exactly what/where you ordered. The cost of the battery has been keeping me from jumping into this so far. I don't know if Dillenger has installed a shift-sensor on that bike or if they intend to tell people to stop pedaling when...

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

The triangle packs from EM3EV are the best looking option I've seen for a ready to go mid-frame solution with a significant capacity (up to 25Ah). And I can buy it together with the BBS02 with all the proper connectors intact, etc. so I'm not trying to engineer something above my pay grade...

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

Not sure. There are no water bottle cage braze-ons (sorry Court!) to use the easiest type of battery mounts. The kits I've been looking at from EM3EV are available with batteries in a triangle pack which should work pretty well.

The CA-520 from BeachBikes: http://www.beachbikes.net/products/Firmstrong-CA-520-7-Speed-Matte-Black-Mens-26-Cruiser-Bike-230.html I wanted to get a bike with this pedal forward geometry and see how comfortable I am riding it over a longer period of time than it made sense to rent one. For...

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

There is a Pedego dealer in Virginia I plan to visit as soon as the arctic chill abates to check out the Interceptor. It does appear to be the closest to what I'm looking for from a purpose-built e-bike.

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

So the bike came yesterday and looks pretty good. Wheels are true and no damage from shipping around the world in the flimsy box. I just had to put on the front wheel, stem, seat post and pedals and adjust the brakes and inflate the tires. Took it out for a quick spin around the block and...

I'm definitely fascinated with the NuVinci. There are mixed reviews out there on it with and without the mid-drive. I have no doubt this will be an expensive learning process...

Encouraging response: "Adding an electric kit sounds awesome! Let me know how it goes! Hopefully you're able to get out and ride soon, send me some photos when you get the kit assembled and working! Don't hesitate to let me know if there is anything you need in the future! "

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

The ST2 is about as close as I've seen to everything I want in one package, but it's a little rich for my blood and it still has sort of a road bike geometry and saddle. The Stealth is definitely not on my wishlist. No interest in going that fast on a bicycle! :-) So I bought this bike...

    MAC 500W 8T Conversion

The Dillenger Stealth Legacy looks like your carbon but with a 750W Bafang mid-drive. It'll do 30mph with the 48V battery. $2K https://dillengerelectricbikes.com

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

Got a new coffee maker to replace the one that broke a couple of days ago so I'm not nearly as grumpy this morning. I'm not actually that price sensitive, I just don't want to spend a lot of money for a bike that is a collection of compromises from my point of view. So I'll back up and try to...

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

Thanks. Looks like they've taken an iZip Zuma and swapped out some of the components. I rode a Zuma at Race Pace bikes in Columbia on Sunday. It was okay, but has only one level of pedal assist and is pretty basic. It's already way over priced, so beefing up the components and leaving the...

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

Ultimately if I go e-bike I'll probably buy a Pedego Interceptor. It has external gears which I hate, hub motor which I suspect will work a LOT harder to haul my fat a$$ not nearly as far, and costs twice as much as I think it should. But I'm getting too old to build and maintain a bike myself...

OK. Scratch that $500 bike. I found something I like better. http://smile.amazon.com/Huffy-Mickey-Limited-Cruiser-Bicycle/dp/B00IO2EWGY With this wheel set: http://smile.amazon.com/Taylor-Wheels-26-inch-Shimano-dynamo/dp/B00JFXIG9U/

Custom long-range cruiser build - go ahead, judge me

Still trying to figure out what to buy. I really want internal gears and think since I'm over 300 pounds I'll be happiest with a powerful mid-drive. Here's one option I've come up with that seems to get close to what I'm looking for. It doesn't have disc brakes, but I've never had them before...

Dillenger Stealth: closer to GenZe e101 or eMotion Nitro?

I posted a comment on Dillenger's folding bike Kickstarter telling them they should hire the PR firm that Storm e-bike used and they followed up with this: Creator Dillenger Pty Ltd 2 days ago @ LH and Matthew, thanks guys, couldn't agree with you more! They certainly have outshone us in the...

    Say Hello To Storm

Moving a little off topic, but seems appropriate to stay in this thread. I just got an email newsletter from a Baltimore LBS. Headline is "Alex Says: Get Fat This Winter!" It goes on to talk about how cool fat bikes are and provides a link to the fat bikes they sell. Thing is, the cheapest one...

    Say Hello To Storm

There are a LOT of videos on this site. I think I'll just start out with a one time PayPal donation. Not sure how long I'll stay interested in - SQUIRREL!

    Say Hello To Storm

I see no one has commented on my suggestion. To quote myself... :) I could be alone in this but I'm probably not. You should have a place on the site to accept donations regardless. I can't imagine the ads pay for everything you sink into this project, even if you willing give your time free.
