    Bike To Bike Communication

O.K., for those who want a quick answer, I boxed up my pair of R1 Evo CS's to return to Amazon. For a more complete explanation: 1) We currently use standard Sena R1 helmets; 2) We don't do group rides or anything, just my wife and I riding together; 3) We like to be able to talk to each...

    The Scorpion is deceptively efficient

The ship date for my wife's (it is still a surprise for her) Brushed Aluminum Hyper now looks to be next Thu or Fri (7/23 or 24)! 🙌🙌🙌 I like how Tora/Juiced has been updating pre-order buyers every week. My wife's riding has changed significantly since I originally purchased this ebike for...

    Bulls?

I like that bike a LOT as well. But... (say it isn't so!) I'm just not in the market for any new e-bikes at the moment. Our current stable is full! I've got Brose motors on 3 bikes - eMTB, Road/Gravel and Road/Commuter. Their power and quietness have always been so pleasing that I never...

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

Yes, I'll go along with you that the Creo looks better. But I am by no means put off by battery humps on e-bikes. I will grant you that some manufacturers integrate the big batteries better into the downtube than others. But if the battery 'hump' makes me have to hump less while riding, I'll...

    Bike To Bike Communication

Will report soon on R1 Evo CS. Bought a pair through Amazon. Medium came earlier this week and the Large is due to be delivered today. Now on Amazon showing unobtanium for smaller sizes, and availability of Larges about mid-August. The one we got so far was really easy to set up using the...

    Carbon ?

It seems to me that carbon frames provide more potential benefit to analog bikes than they do e-bikes. Or at least most e-bikes - the ones which have a powerful motor and a big battery (not the ones trying to be disguised as analog bikes, with small in-tube batteries and smaller/weaker motors)...

Afraid FedEx might have lost my Hyperscorpion

Hope it works out for you! I have found this to happen more often with FedEx than with other carriers, but still not all that often. Usually with WalMart orders since that is the only carrier they use. Seems to get to a location, and then just 'sits' - no further progress. The HyperScorp I...

Ariel Rider D-Class review of a 33 MPH scrambler with two motors

Please tell me that you don't really have to have the key in the lock (under the seat) in order to ride this thing, as Micah did for the whole video. That is just so... 2010 in design!

    Lectric xp faulty bike

Very nice to hear that the company is handling the issues so well!

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

Yes, the new Yamaha seems to be very reasonably priced in my opinion.

    Ride1up core 5 or Radmission 1?

I haven't drunk the Rad Kool-Aid, but I see absolutely nothing interesting about the RadMission 1. OTOH I do have some experience with R1U bikes (my wife likes her 700 very much), and although we have plenty of really nice e-bikes, I am really tempted to pick up a Core 5 as a knock-around bike...

With Scorpions Almost Ready... What Will Tora Work On Next?

Well, I don't think that you have to worry about that too much. Since they are delivering their full suspension model as the Scorpion/HyperScorpion I don't believe they are going to go back and totally revise the Scrambler frame to provide a full suspension model. They could have chosen to do...

    Good Stuff You Bought

I really like the Ortlieb Velo-Shopper QL 2.1 bags. Bought some of the red ones at Sierra for $70 each, but now price seems to have gone up. Still great bags, with the black ones currently going for $80 each (but watch prices as they change and might go down). Easy to install/adjust, easy on...

Is white/blue colored NCM Moscow for girls?

Thanks for being here Ryan. Always nice to have folks on these forums who are 'in the business.' BTW - my younger sister loves her Aspen which I recommended she get (for the price she wanted to pay). And she ended up getting some new 'touch points' and a rear view mirror installed for her...

    Bike To Bike Communication

Can't directly answer your question as I haven't tried the cell phone route of on bike communication. But we have found our R1's work pretty darned well while riding. The biggest pain to us (especially for my wife) with the R1's, however, is setting them up and the 'button press' menus. She...

First trail ride, First crash, OUCH!

Sorry to hear about your unintended adventure! Really sucks to go down - I still have shoulder pain from a little 'off' I took back in February. Glad that what you described should heal up fine though. But I'm further sorry to say that you will likely have to be saying goodbye to your new...

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

No, it won't have a throttle - just a straight California/U.S. Class 3 speed pedelec. 43 pound weight - not too bad. Especially with a real motor and battery. My Raleigh Tamland iE weighs in at 47# and with the big battery and Brose motor it by no means feels heavy. In fact it is the most...

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

Wow, what's not to like! This is exactly what I want - an e-road bike which isn't trying to disguise itself as an acoustic with a small battery within the downtube and a weak little motor. And not strangled with a 15-20mph pedal assist restriction. 70Nm and 500 watt hour battery! And...

Review of Haibike Sduro Trekking 4.0

Looks like that is the highest spec they are bringing to the U.S. this year. They still have higher models (5.0, 7.0 and 8.0 Trekking) available in Europe, and then their Adventr bikes with the Flyon. Maybe those will come to the U.S. in future years? At least with the Yamaha motor in the 4.0...

Review of Haibike Sduro Trekking 4.0

We have a couple of Trekking 7.0's (2019) with PearTune MSO mod chips. 75nm torque with no speed limiting. Make the bikes whole new animals. Bosch on the 2019 Trekking 9.0 S only made 60nm of torque. Awesome bikes. If I could have only 1 e-bike, it would likely be the Haibike Trekking.
