A single line chain in lieu of a belt with the Rohloff is a very good alternative also with benefits
It should save a heap of lost efficiency from belt drag, chain wear will be far less than a derailleur with reduced maintenance
You never know, some may actually prefer this option
To save any arguments within this forum, please 🙏, please 🙏 buy 1x mid drive and 1x hub drive :)
There you go....one for each camp....that should fix it....nothing to see here, please move on;)🤞
I have this one which is good for 46kg total
Just so happens that both of our ebikes weigh 45kg including batteries :)
We remove the batteries for transportation, so saves 5-6kg

True
We're splitting hairs now to get the ultimate correct speed reading. :)
Assuming you mean where the centre of the hub intersects with a line from the middle of the tyre contact pattern with the road would be the smallest rolling radius
Here’s something to ponder
Wouldn’t the vertical tyre radius measurement from the hub centre to the bottom of the tyre, (measured with the tyre fully compressed from the combined weight of the ebike, rider and any additional baggage) be more accurate
This would be the true rolling radius of the...
I’m hearing you David!!
This is one summer we will not soon forget
It started with fires that devastated almost every corner of the country, and ended with the COVID curse
Enough already....bring on the rain to wash our worries away 😃
Hi Alaskan
When you get a minute, could you please confirm what the overall width is across the back of the saddle
From the SA website I can see it is 290mm long, but I can’t see where it states the width
These new bikes will get close to the total all in cost, less any negotiated savings
Cheaper still if you can find a good used bike

We are lucky that our winters are very mild, so I can’t really relate to the wind chill that you would experience
However, the 25-30km/hr breezes are most welcome in our summer to cool you down
Agreed
We get 25-30 km/hr winds quite regularly where I live
With climate change I have noticed the windy days are becoming more frequent
That’s one of the reasons I got an ebike:p
