    2020 Trek Verve+ 2 online now

I have a Raleigh Retroglide with a Transx 350 watt 62 NM motor and 48 volt battery. My wife has the same bike with Bosh 250 watt 45 NM motor and 36 volt battery. Going up a steep hill it takes everything I have to keep up with her. I think NM ratings are not a good indicator of the power a bike...

Are we now looking at 30% tariffs on ebikes ?

I posted this in another thread but I think it's relevant here too. China is also suffering from product design theft inside it's own country. My lipo factory will only give tours to dealers that live outside the country. The Chinese government is trying to crack down on corporate espionage...

    Bike friendly Breckenridge (sort of)

I would take the sticker off and put a class 1 on and ride responsibly. I really doubt anyone would know the difference or ask to see your sticker.

    Raleigh Sprite ie troubles updates

I have had my Retroglide for over a year now with no troubles. It seems your dealer is doing the best he can to get you taking care of and this is exactly why I bought mine at a local dealer instead of online direct. If it was me, I would bite the bullet and get a new bike and trade in the old...

Bam Power being sued by Rad Power

China is also suffering from product design theft inside it's own country. My lipo factory will only give tours to dealers that live outside the country. The Chinese government is trying to crack down on corporate espionage which is rampant inside it's own country. There own way of life that...

International carriers that ship e-bike batteries?

There is a big difference between shipping in the US and shipping overseas. I can ship a 10wh battery for less than $20. in the US using Fed Ex ground. If I want to ship that same pack overseas the cost jumps over $100. and to as much as $230. I will also say it's cheaper to ship into the US...

New Powertube battery doesn't quite deliver

My wife has a Raleigh ebike with a bosh 500wh battery. It always says 45 miles in eco on the estimator but she gets easily 80 miles with the way she rides. I'm in Las Vegas so pretty flat and she uses no assist a lot of the time with eco and turbo mixed in. You live in a moderately hilly area...

Purchase Rad Wagon with Velofix setup

You know if your confident in your abilities that is one thing but if your not, Velofix is a good way to go. Some people spend hours trying to figure stuff out and then end up going to a bike shop to solve there problems anyway. To me it was worth letting my local bike shop assemble my bike...

If you already own an e-bike, are you considering another?

Who doesn't want another ebike after riding one. If I could afford it, I would have 3 or 4 ebikes all with different purposes.

Another twist to throttle vs PAS ebikes....Comments wanted...

I was a tile installer for 20 years and now I have bad knees. I wish I didn't need a throttle on my bike but I do. I am sure I am like many others with knee problems. But I can peddle most of the time but my knees will tell me when there not happy. So a mixture of ghost peddling and throttle...

    What top speed to get?

My wife has an active line plus motor on her bike and she rides 50% of our rides with no assist. She simply turns the assist off and pedals with no drag. I believe the active line motors were designed with no motor drag in mind. We have some nice paved trails here in Las Vegas and all of our...

Another twist to throttle vs PAS ebikes....Comments wanted...

I see the hassle as more for DIY users than factories. Labor is very cheap in China so the added cost is nominal. I get a Bosh PAS is more expensive but not in the big scheme of things. I bet 90% of the people riding the 99% of ebikes that don't come with a throttle are happy and don't care...

Another twist to throttle vs PAS ebikes....Comments wanted...

My bike has both PAS and throttle and I would never want a throttle only bike. I like the assist to do it's job and I will add throttle as needed when going up a grade or just to give my knees a break. I think if I only had a throttle I would use it more as a throttle only and not as a help like...

Cargo Hybrid eBike vs the Retro Racer / Scrambler eBike

I like the mini bike if I were to take it, just for fun, camping or something like that. The blue one looks good if you have hauling stuff in mind. I like the looks of the blue one better but I don't want the racks.

Cargo Hybrid eBike vs the Retro Racer / Scrambler eBike

From what I remember of my 3 hp Briggs & Strattan mini bike was it was fun but not very safe. My neighbor got a taco with a 5 hp motor and what a rocket and death trap at the same time. I think those old style mini bikes wouldn't even compare to these new style mini bikes which I'm sure ride a...

Wattwagon E-bike World Record event in Halifax (Aug 3rd) + World's top battery scientist talks about batteries

With a 24 mph average and 41 miles per charge, that is great range for single charge on a battery. You looked like you were going fast in the video. Congrats on the achievement, I bet it was fun to be able to ride at that speed and not have to stop for anything or anybody.

Brand new Syracuse, NY ebike sharing system

I agree. If it works out for you, you can't get cheaper than that.

    Would you do this deal?

In the long run I don't think your are saving anything. Your trading perceived shipping issues with worst, used bike issues. For me I would go the new bike route and know it hasn't been run like you stole it for a year, so having the potential to last longer for the extra money you paid. I guess...

Brand new Syracuse, NY ebike sharing system

I think those plans give you 1 free hour a day so not unlimited. Unless you only ride for 1 hour a day.

100s of riders crash on icy "Mountain of Hell"

Awesome video. It started out so well. As soon as I saw the bottle neck I knew it was over.
