International carriers that ship e-bike batteries?

HI All,

Would appreciate any advice on international carriers that ship e-bike batteries still. There have been a few threads in the past but not an updated one.

I'm looking to ship a replacement battery from Japan to NYC and was wondering if anybody has had luck with primary carriers like UPS, FedEX, DHL, EMS, etc.?
Or any luck with freight forwarders?

Is there a specific way to pack that makes it acceptable for shipping nowadays?

Much appreciated.

This is a little off topic, but I recently ordered a second battery from Evelo, and it was shipped via Fed-Ex. The tracking said that because it was a hazardous item, it would require a signature when delivered, so I made sure to stay home that day. However, the FedEx driver just left it on my front step and didn't ask for a signature. I was surprised when I looked out the window and saw the package sitting there.

There is a big difference between shipping in the US and shipping overseas. I can ship a 10wh battery for less than $20. in the US using Fed Ex ground. If I want to ship that same pack overseas the cost jumps over $100. and to as much as $230. I will also say it's cheaper to ship into the US from another country than it is to ship out of the US. Most shippers can ship lithium batteries overseas, it's just a matter if you want to pay the price for them doing it.
