Real Range? What can you get from a charge?

If I just ride at about 10 mph then I could use a regular light weight non electric bike with limitless range.

Real Range? What can you get from a charge?

The general rule of thumb is that the battery range is roughly 5-10% (in miles) of the battery capacity (in Watt-Hours), depending on how much motor assist you are using. For example, if you have a 500wh battery, your range may vary from 25 miles to 50 miles depending on how much motor assist...

Yamaha battery not reaching expected range?

What's the ebike wattage rating? 750W = 1 horsepower? or is it simply the consumption of electricity.

The actual mechanical power will be lesser. On the other hand a professional athlete that is pedaling at 750 watts, the measurement of the power is also done at the pedal crank. An ebike motor power measurement is also done at the pedal crank. It's different on a hub motor since it is measured...

    Mid-drive vs hub motor: Experiences

That's why I have a different ebike right now with a bigger capacity battery (700 wh).

What's the ebike wattage rating? 750W = 1 horsepower? or is it simply the consumption of electricity.

It all started as a law in the US (EU have different laws). Motorized bicycles in the US canot have more than 1 horsepower (750 watts) in many states. It does not matter if the power comes from internal combustion engine or electric motor. The horsepower rating is measured at the crank (or drive...

    Mid-drive vs hub motor: Experiences

Going 20-22 mph on my direct drive, I could barely reach 20 miles on my 417.6 wh battery. I used to do 25 mile round trip and carry a spare battery to switch halfway along the trip.

    Mid-drive vs hub motor: Experiences

I have owned mid drive, direct hub drive, and geared hub drive. Hub drives are easier to ride, easier to shift, effortless stop and go maneuvers. The mid needs finesse on shifting. I like the manual motor cut off over a gear sensor for shifting. I forced myself to want the Bosch ebike but was...

What's the ebike wattage rating? 750W = 1 horsepower? or is it simply the consumption of electricity.

Ebike motor output is measured at the output shaft using a dyno just like a car engine. Watt display is electrical measurement but roughly corelates to actual power to the wheel (minus the efficiency lose).

Took the Creo out for my first group ride

You did the right thing to conserve the battery. Stay in the middle of the pack and adjust your assist level just enough that you don't get dropped.

What's the ebike wattage rating? 750W = 1 horsepower? or is it simply the consumption of electricity.

That's where the confusion arises. Chinese ebikes: 750 watts rating equals 750 "maximum" watts coming from the controller into the motor (volts x amps). Non-Chinese brands : 750 watts equals 750 "sustainable" watts, plus it is measured as a mechanical watts at the output shaft (work / time or...

Are you telling me you are carrying the spare battery in a backpack?!

I place it under the seat. https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/spare-battery-bag.25442/

Most ebikers are retired or near retiring age where age has taken a tool on muscle strenght and endurance.

In those cases, choosing a premium brand with the latest and most sophisticated technology is not always benificial, but can even be less helpful (such as the lack of throttle).

    2019 evo nitro speed

Like most speed pedelec ebikes, 28 mph is attainable with a rider that is of average weight and physical fitness. I would assume it would full into the category of 160-180 pounds rider and able to physically pedal 200 watts from your leg muscles, on top of the electric motor's own power. I have...

    Luna Bikes?

Luna sells decent products. I have a full suspension mountain bike with BBSHD from them for 3 years now and still running like new. They are better than alibaba, chinese ebay or amazon generic products and you can call them if you have problem with your purchase. They source their ebike parts...

SURFACE 604 -SLOW SUPPORT, BUT ISSUE EVENTUALLY RESOLVED SATISFACTORILY

You better get your records and documents all organized and be ready to file at the small claims court if things still does not turn out satisfactorily. I suspect they sent you a bad battery (old stock). However, I think the company will keep their promise this time around since they are now...
