Apex Luna VS Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra FS Pro

Both are the same base motor (M620 is the model number for the Ultra). Luna has customized it. I'd think the Biktrix would do you well enough, and hey, they're a Canadian company.👍 Also, thanks to @cstmichael for finding out that Transport Canada has changed its rules re: importing e-bikes...

    Why electric motorcycles are failing

Yep, on the Zone GTS you just have to pull a single cable that connects to the speed limiter. Here's a video I came across last year. I kind of did a deep dive on these after my near-collision, to see what they were capable of. The dude was going 65kph on the road, and is pulled over by the...

    Why electric motorcycles are failing

Possibly... My condo "neighbourhood" has it's own forum, and there was a thread there where somebody with a suspended license was asking about alt transportation, and another person recommended an Emmo e-motorcycle specifically because how easy it was to derestrict.

    Why electric motorcycles are failing

They're as easy to derestrict as a Bafang hub, and go pretty fast (60+kph). Toys/replacements for people with suspended driver's licenses are probably fairly big target markets. :)

    Why electric motorcycles are failing

I don't know WHY our gov't set 100kg as the "weight limit" of an e-bike. It's like they focus on the "e" in "e-bike" and forget all about the "bike" part, aka "bicycle" as in "pedal". Just to be clear, I'm not anti-throttle, I just think that human-powered pedaling should be a requirement. I'm...

    Why electric motorcycles are failing

It's NOT a misleading visual comparison at all. We just have a difference of opinion. I happen to think that a vehicle that doesn't have functional pedals AND weighs in excess of 200lbs should be classified as an e-bike. Just because the former (travelling at a derestricted speed) almost...

Triage or Emergency Medical Kit for biking Recommendation?

I can't recommend a kit like this enough, especially if you like going off the beaten path at all. I've always had a similar, home-made kit like this, going back to my MTB younger days. Had to bust it open last year when we tackled a steep gravelly hill that my SO thought she could handle...

    Why electric motorcycles are failing

You know, sometimes categories and legislation ARE helpful... this and this Should NOT be in the same category of vehicle, but they are in many places, like Canada. They're both under 100kg and both have a top speed of 32kph so they're both e-bikes. It's not a matter of more OR less...

Looking for E Mountain Bike recommendations.

I thought flx did ship to Canada. Their shipping page says they ship around the world... https://flx.bike/pages/shipping-policy Maybe their policy has changed, but that link references 2021. If you REALLY want to get an e-bike that's not available here in Canada, another (not cheap) option is...

    Why electric motorcycles are failing

Don't know the host's name, but I always appreciate the sense of humour in FortNine videos. The best part in this one is the modern Mac with the classic 3D Pipes screensaver. :) More seriously, I think with a larger portion of the population living in denser urban cores, more manageable...

E-bikes under fire as fatalities climb in NYC

(Not really) funny how many of these anti-ebike headlines are actually about electric scooters.

Looking for E Mountain Bike recommendations.

As a Canadian, I'm sadly reminded of that fact every time I look at an ebike listing, and think ... "PLEASE be localized to Canadian dollarettes!"

Looking for E Mountain Bike recommendations.

Gazelle e-bikes are nice, but I think the OP is looking for something along the lines of a Bafang M600 or M620 mid-drive, with the 120nm and 1000w minimum.

The only one that ticks all the tech boxes that I can think of is outside your budget a bit, which is the Watt Wagon Hydra, but it's $4,800 US for the base model. https://wattwagons.com/products/hydra If you DO find something else that ticks them all and is sub $5000 CA let me know. I've been...

    Replacing display with smartphone/watch

Garmin seems to be the way to go. I don't really care for the smartphone features (calls, music, SMS etc), and FitBit just doesn't seem to have all the health features of Garmin's offerings. I just didn't realize how MANY watches they made, until I started looking into them! Leaning towards the...

    Replacing display with smartphone/watch

I've tried the E-Tube app, and haven't had any problems with it, but rarely use it because I've got the SC-E6100 display on my OHM Cruise. Why bother with a smartphone app? Until I watched this video... It appears I can ditch the e-bike's display entirely, and use either the smartphone, or...

Range 160+ miles Cube Kathmandu Bosch Gen 4 Nyon computer

I know the Flintstone feeling. Nothing compared to my fat tire without assist though. :) It mostly a minor thing, but sometimes I like going on light trails with some dippity dos, and that's when I feel the lead in the wheels.
