    Questions re: Kommoda Advance Settings

LCD manual is here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0620/2140/2857/files/K5242_User_Guide.pdf?v=1646879370 Wheel Size is literally the size of the wheel. If you have fatter tires you might want to bump it to the next size. Generally this only affects the MPH readout, so the best method is to...

    Electric Car thread

"completely" is not the relevant metric, IMO. This shows how quickly we went from horse to cars at the turn of the last century: And while I can understand while some will dismiss California as an outlier, history shows that it's more likely a trailblazer which most of the rest of the country...

    Frey CC

I could see that being possible, especially with a close-ratio cassette.

With a larger front chain ring you’ll need a longer chain to maintain derailleur performance. I’ve never heard of a throttle “delay” with the Ultra motor, and would be interested to know how that is programmed. Throttle in PAS 0 is turned off if Limited Current and Limited Speed are set to 0...

    Stiff Steering Issue

I think the Verve +3 has a threaded headset with a quill stem, right? If so, this video explains it pretty well: So, don't loosen the quill/stem. Instead, loosen the top nut at the headset, and then you'll want to slightly loosen the nut just underneath that. Doing that last part will...

    Specialized releases Turbo Tero X

A friend asked me about the differences between the Tero X 6.0 (which I initially pointed him at), and one of the Levo's (not sure which). Can someone summarize the geometry/philosophy differences, or point me at comparisons? He's old, like me, and still goes off-road with his current acoustic...

Can I program the Bafang Ultra 510/620 throttle for full power in all pas levels?

Remember there are two things here: One is the EggRider itself, the other is the phone App. And then there's the Bluetooth connection between them. If you're letting the EggRider device shut down while keeping the App open, when you restart the EggRider, it doesn't necessarily auto-connect to...

    Unintended Acceleration with Pedego Roadrunner

Thanks for that. You'd think a Pedego dealer would be up on the recalls for the bikes it's renting.

    Unintended Acceleration with Pedego Roadrunner

This weekend some friends came over and we decided to go for a ride. Since they don't own eBikes, we stopped by our local Pedego dealer to rent a couple. Although they wanted a mountain bike layout, because they admitted we were staying on pavement, the dealer steered them from the Trail Tracker...

Can I program the Bafang Ultra 510/620 throttle for full power in all pas levels?

The EggRider display itself should be showing the write operation as well as your phone screen. One way to check that the write works is to screen grab your settings, hit "Write Controller," then change a couple settings, and then hit "Read Controller." If the settings change back to what you...

Ultra Tuning: Decoding the Torque Tab's SPD Table

Ran a few dozen more SPD column isolation tests today: Confirmed that SPD engagement & disengagement is independent of Basic Tab's "Wheel Size" (tried 16-in and 29-in). Note that for the EggRider changing this parameter did not affect the accuracy of the Speedometer readout. Confirmed that SPD...

Can I program the Bafang Ultra 510/620 throttle for full power in all pas levels?

There are a few possibilities/functions with the EggRider for Ultra that are different than other Bafang config tools, especially compared to BBS config tools. I'm wondering if perhaps you have something going on with OffRoad and OnRoad settings that is giving you results you're not expecting...

    C961 Display problem

See this page for C961 display configuration for your bike: https://www.bigcatbikes.com/blogs/big-cat-bikes-blog/configure-your-bafang-c961-display-on-your-big-cat-electric-bike If tire size is indeed correct, but MPH and trip odo are wrong by the same amounts, then there's likely something...

    Need help with brakes.

Review of the Hope V4 here: https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/components/brakes/disc-brake-systems/hope-tech-4-v4-brakes-review/ BTW, the Shimano M7100's are 2 piston brakes, while the Hopes are 4 piston. Shimano does make a number of 4 piston brakes as well, including the M7120s. Review of...

    Show Us a Tool

A cable puller: Under $20 at Amazon and other places. They're designed to pull cables tight within their housing, so useful for installing/replacing brake and derailleur cables. But, I find I use it mostly to tighten cable ties, for which it is truly excellent.

    Need help with brakes.

I disagree that hydraulic brakes are harder to maintain than cable-driven brakes. If you're able to diagnose, debug, and fix issues with cable-driven brakes you have the skills needed to do the same on hydraulics. I actually find them easier! With hydraulics, you simply need to: Check pads for...

V Style Ramp for 1UP hitch rack

Yeah, for one bike it’s ok - not two. But note the ramp does easily bolt to the rack for transport so you don’t need to find a place to stow it.

V Style Ramp for 1UP hitch rack

I've got one I don't use that I'd sell to you. I'm in NorCal. It's OK for one bike if you're willing to remove and reinstall the lynch pins necessary to swing the rack's hold-down out of the way to use the ramp. But, the killer for me is that once you have one bike on, you can't really use the...

Ultra Tuning: Where other guides go wrong

I guess you didn't read that the title of this thread starts with: "Ultra Tuning." No, it's relevant to some BBS thread. I'm continuing this discussion there. Again.
