Superdelite front wheel quick release axel

Hard to know exactly what you're saying here, but I'm guessing: 1) Front axle screws into threads inside the axle hole of the fork. 2) Rear axles has a separate nut into which the axle threads. The procedure for removing the front axle is to loosen the lever, then rotate anti-clockwise to...

    2022 - Top 12 Bafang Ultra M620 Ebikes

For many of us UART Ultra tuners, it's not about raw power, but a finely tuned delivery of that power that is controllable mostly by applied pedal torque. I personally would hate a bike that lifted the front wheel as you describe. I want my bike to take off smoothly and evenly, and have the...

Ultra Tuning: Setting up PAS levels in the Basic Tab

Just a note that I've been doing more and more off-road riding lately. Here in NorCal, on the John Nicholas trail and the Aquinas trail up over Montevina from Los Gatos. I continue to be happy with the spacing of the pedal assist levels I've outlined. And so far don't see a need to change the...

Ultra Tuning: Decoding the Pedal Assist Tab

Yeah, Designated Assist to 9 will mean you're getting the full power of the motor regardless of the display's chosen level. I already listed"Designated Assist" and "Speed Limit" as 2 of the 3 parameters that I believe do mean something to the Ultra Motor. I just tried, again, playing around...

Ultra Tuning: Decoding the Pedal Assist Tab

I'd be interested in hearing about any of these Pedal Assist Tab parameters (other than Pedal Type) actually affecting Ultra motor behavior.

Ultra Tuning: Setting up PAS levels in the Basic Tab

The numbers you're entering are percentages of amps. Power (watts) = Amps * Volts, and Volts is basically constant, based on your battery. So, I don't see how there is a built-in logarithmic scale if you don't make one. Note that the percentages all get multiplied here: Motor actual current =...

How is purely torque-sensing PAS actually implemented?

That seems nonsense given idbike's own page on the TMM4 torque sensor: https://www.idbike.com/sensors Unless there's some compute in there to look at chain tension changes and associate them with pedal cranks, which seems pretty advanced....

Another Frey Savannah Ultra - CC owner

The claim that adding an actual magnet helps with startup is false. Others have reported that at high speeds the additional magnet makes things more wonky as something in the electronics can’t keep up.Startup does not use the magnet as you can prove to yourself by removing all magnets or even...

Ultra Tuning: Setting up PAS levels in the Basic Tab

Yeah, I've not done a Throttle Tab for the Ultra since I don't think there's any magic sauce there - it appears that the Ultra throttle behaves pretty much the same as the BBS's, although I haven't tested the speed limit.

Pedro's? Degreaser 13 or Oranj Peelz?

For $5 more, a can of Clean Streak is specifically designed for bicycles and won't harm your paint or plastic bits. And if you buy it with the reservoir/brush thing, the runoff is fairly neatly contained and the brushes help the spray's action.

Pedro's? Degreaser 13 or Oranj Peelz?

I guess if you're the kind of person who uses a combination Shampoo & Conditioner for your hair the clean and lubes have appeal, but for me the two properties are different enough for me to continue to use separate cleaners and lubricators. For cleaning I use Clean Streak, which has this handy...

    Specialized releases Turbo Tero X

Yes, meant can't get the engagement point to happen soon enough. The adjustment turns in the opposite direction one would think based on the markings. For instance: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/guide-rsc-contact-point-adjustment.968966/

    Specialized releases Turbo Tero X

Rode some trails today with our friends with the Tero X's. Outside of the personal fit (as discussed earlier), their only real complaint is the SRAM RSC brakes. No matter what the LBS does (and I tried, too), we can get the engagement point to happen soon enough. LBS suggests TRP or Magura...

    Electric Car thread

I think you left out that Apollo 11 was filmed in a movie studio, that the earth is flat, and that the Sandy Hook massacre was actually a hoax designed so the government could confiscate our firearms.

    Specialized releases Turbo Tero X

My friends (a couple) ended up buying Tero X 6.0s for themselves! We went riding last weekend and had a blast, although they complained a bit about shoulder/arm/hand pain after the longish ride (32 miles). So, they're looking at stem/handlebar replacement to raise them a bit. They did a bunch...

    What causes loose spokes

Yeah, I know the DT Swiss video is long, but near the end they show how the wheels they build are put through a side stress machine as one of the steps. Hand built wheels are the best.
