    Current Vado/Tero motors

Thanks for clearing that up :) Ok, so my primary concern is noise level. I remember a Tero X 4.0, Vado 4.0, and Vado 5.0 as being completely fine. Tested a Vado 3.0 today and it seemed a bit louder from the others. Anyone know if this is true?

Vado 3.0/Tero 3.0: Specialized 2.0E, 50Nm torque, custom tuned motor, 250W nominal Vado 4.0/Tero 4.0: Specialized 2.0, 70Nm torque, custom tuned motor, 250W nominal Vado 5.0/Tero 5.0/Tero 6.0 Specialized 2.2, 90Nm torque, custom tuned motor, 250W nominal Are these all the same motor? I know the...

Gazelle Arroyo vs Trek Verve +1

Throttle was once a must have for me (read some of my first posts), but now having had experience on numerous e-bikes I have no interest. The best motors (from a natural pedaling standpoint) don’t have throttles due to European law. Ride1Up is probably one of the better DTC brands and those...

Gazelle Arroyo vs Trek Verve +1

Lesser known company that hasn't been around as long (2008) and has 45 nm nominal torque. I think you were on the right track with Gazelle/Trek personally. There is a lot that goes into a good e-bike. FWIW as an owner of a Gazelle Ultimate C380 I am still eyeing (the much cheaper) Vado 4.0.

Gazelle Arroyo vs Trek Verve +1

IMO something from Trek, Gazelle, Specialized, etc. are going to be a lot better to pedal. There are a million DTC brands out there. Since you have a nice budget I would personally stick to those brands speaking very generally.

Gazelle Arroyo vs Trek Verve +1

I would probably go Arroyo. The Hyena motor on the Trek is mostly unknown, whereas the Bosch Active Line is one of the most widely used motors in the world. 40 nm of torque for the Hyena isn't a lot, 50 nm from the Bosch is better. That particular Bosch is one of the quietest motors on the...

Specialized in NYC - UL Certification?

Found this, but I don't think it means they are certified. https://productiq.ulprospector.com/en/profile/6899699/qgns.e533753?term=QGNS&page=2 The Specialized website does not allow e-bikes to be purchased in NYC.

Specialized in NYC - UL Certification?

One would think that if much smaller companies are able to achieve certification that this should be a piece of cake for Specialized. Very strange.. this rule was inevitable.

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

For what it's worth, $800 seems over the top for this upgrade. The electronic shifting is great, but you're kinda beholden to a lot of proprietary technologies. My shifter lost battery power during a ride and gave no warning prior. This was 2 weeks after buying the bike. Of course, every bike...

8+ months of research, 100s of hours, know what I need & want but can't find it

IMO, the overall features of the Vado 4.0 are comparable to the class 3 Gazelle T+ Ultimate. Vado has a wider tire which I think is better for comfort, and a quieter motor. Overall the Gazelles are a slightly different flavor of the same concept. Compared to a self-built bike this is designed...

8+ months of research, 100s of hours, know what I need & want but can't find it

The Haul ST has an exceptionally rough ride. I can't believe some reviews call it comfortable. I suspect the mind conflates the very smooth power delivery with overall smoothness. It's a headache machine that makes my rigid fork gravel bike feel like I'm gliding. Build quality is also not...

    Creo 2 short supply?

Can you get weight under 40 lbs? What would the lightest be for a 90 nm bike with ~400+ wh?

    Creo 2 short supply?

Probably not producing as much inventory due to large amounts of other unsold bikes. If you call the main rider care line they may know. I did that in the psst and they gave me an accurate estimate. The stores will say anything.

It would be amazing if a Vado or Como worked out. The Vado has a shorter seat tube length that might even allow for a suspension post... It would a long shot, but who knows.

Saddle pressure, numbness, and maintaining sexual health at 59

A good bike fitter can help with everything related to bicycle ergonomics, including saddle choice. Most bike salespeople know little about sizing, let alone fitting, and will happily let you walk out with an ill fitting bike.

Have you considered a suspension seat post like the Kinekt? They are easily returnable via Amazon. Another thought, can you upload a video of yourself riding to see the bike fit? Consulting a professional fitter might be a good idea too.

Decathlon's Mid-Drive Electric Gravel Bike E-GRVL AF MD Brose Drive T Mag

Only 3 kg more than the Creo 2, but with a much more powerful drive system and for 1000 euros less. I think this would do very well in the US.

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 rear wheel hub loose

That sucks. Service is why we spend more for LBS bikes. Will Specialize warranty this work at another shop, or at a Specialized-owned location?
