Ok - I'll take it in and give the updates a go. Hopeful.

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

I can't imagine doing any firmware update to my 14 month old SL4. It's never given me any issue and just turned 5k miles. I'd consider updating my RE batt but can anyone tell me if the update makes a difference in performance or longevity?

New motor or new Vado SL

I thought there was no belt in an SL motor - only straight Vado.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Congratulations on your new favorite bike. When I bought my SL I equated the 'mode' switch on the handlebar with effort. If I needed help - press it. But I was so wrong. Really, for me anyway, it's a speed switch. And that's because having an SL has never reduced my effort. I'm still...

Dry run with my DIY rack On Vado SL

Wow - that's some beautiful scenery! 50's? Those are widest I've seen on an SL. Hope you have enough clearance for mud. But doesn't look like you'll ever run into that. :)

Vado SL 5.0 saddle isn't comfortable

I'm the one guy that likes the SL stock saddle. It's light, padded well, and has a pressure relief channel like higher end seats. I wear padded shorts so maybe that's another reason I'm OK with it. Really though, I've had a lot of different saddles and no matter the design - if I ride 60k+...

    2022 Vado SL 4.0 Dead

Seems crazy to me that water got in to the frame. I've been caught out on a couple really rainy rides on my SL and no issues. I do dry it well after.

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

'Seems to be lighter' - 'Mahle even claims' :)

    Charging question - don't overcharge?

I left my SL charging for a week and now Blevo says I can go 300 miles in ECO mode. :)

    Charging question - don't overcharge?

I don't think anyone under the expectation to get battery exactly at 80%. And it's not difficult to get it in that general range.

    Charging question - don't overcharge?

I'll chime in. 4000 miles on my SL. And I have/use range extender. I only charge to 100% if I'm going to ride immediately after the charge and only if I need the battery full due to really long ride. I don't charge to 100% if I know the bike will sit or I might just be doing a shorter ride...

    Firmware updates..............again!

Typically, firmware updates come with small explanation. Do you know if the updates were directed at something to do with shifting? Did you ask the LBS about what the updates were for?

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

Ras - have been looking at other brands. Ane the Orbea is sweet. I'm just leaning Specy given my great experience with the SL and the LBS that sold it to me. Waiting for '23 models really. And funny thing - I don't want a new MTB to take any time away from my SL riding. That's how much I...

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

Considering both. You can tell I don't know much about the type of MTB's. I've got an old Cannondale hard tail with headshock so any new MTB - elec or not - will be an awesome experience. And I have to say mschwett - my SL in the woods in turbo mode, going up really steep embankments, makes...

How do you clean your chain?

You don't need a zip tie. Instead of turning the crank arm backwards, just turn the front chain ring with your hand. And, according to one post here, Specy doesn't recommend running the chain backwards for cleaning. Pedro's seems like a cheap and good alternative to Park but plastic equals...

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

I am. I'd like to get an E-MTB to go with my SL. It's really the only type riding where the SL is limited. I'm not saying the SL can't do any MTB'ing but I'm talking the serious, off-road trails that can be tough without suspension. I'm not a downhill rider and looking for lightest MTB...

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

True - I think a $10k USD bike is crazy price but I have the money and I'm seriously thinking about buying a top-of-the-line Kenevo SL. Just waiting to see what the '23 models do to the '22 prices. Probably not much.

    Ok, I get it now...

Agree. Feel the same way about my SL4. Just more 'heft' to it then my road bike. And with 38 tires gives it a real sturdy feel at high speeds vs road bike with 23s. Just a great feel and ride with Specy SL under me.
