New stuff on my Turbo Vado 4.0

Well, I guess its finally time to sh-t or get off the pot! I cannot get a Turbo Vado 4.0 in Colombia now….they are totally out of stock and have been for some time. The Turbo Vado SL is not and never has been available in Colombia.… However, the Turbo Creo is available, and there are some...

New stuff on my Turbo Vado 4.0

They are the “Gump” model. I hope the thief who stole my bike 2 months ago is enjoying them. I really like them!

New stuff on my Turbo Vado 4.0

well Stefan, I love these long distance chats with you! regardless if you are correct or not now, you will certainly be correct in 3 or 4 years when I plan to replace the Turbo Vado…I will be pushing 80 by then!🤣😂🤙

New stuff on my Turbo Vado 4.0

If I replace the wheels with some 650B Roval carbon wheels and Rene Herse tires, all I will have left to complain about will be the suspension fork…I really would prefer a Carbon fork and save the 1.5-2kg of weight

New stuff on my Turbo Vado 4.0

Yes there are some damned steep streets here, above 25% grades aren’t uncommon. However, the Turbo Vado SL is almost 10 kg lighter than my Turbo Vado, and the SL has lower gears than the Turbo Vado. I can get up the grade to my apartment in Sport mode which I suspect would be comparable to the...

New stuff on my Turbo Vado 4.0

Well, awhile back I posted that I had would rather have a Turbo Vado SL. Thats still true, but the Turbo Vado SL is not available in Colombia. So I am doing my best to enjoy all the fine qualities of my Turbo Vado and change a few things around to be more to my liking. I have always ridden...

Replacing saddle and seat post on Turbo Como 4.0 IGH

I just did the reverse of what you plan on a Turbo Vado. I removed the suspension seatpost and installed a carbon seatpost and a leather saddle with titanium rails. it was a 30.9. if you are unsure, the shims are around $10.

Replacing suspension seatpost on turbo vado with non suspension seatpost

Did you get the straight or offset model? Also, what brand shim did you use or a DIY?

Replacing suspension seatpost on turbo vado with non suspension seatpost

That, in tandem with a saddle that suits my posterior better, mabye a Brooks or hopefully a Berthoud should be helpful!

Replacing suspension seatpost on turbo vado with non suspension seatpost

Has anyone replaced the stock suspension seatpost (I dont like suspension seatposts) with a non suspension rigid seatpost? I am just starting to look for a replacement.

    Specialized Sport 650 x 2.3 weight?

I have been looking, but so far I am unable to find weights listed for the Specialized Pathfinder Sport reflect 650b x 2.3 tires that come as stock equipment on my Turbo Vado 4. For the kind of riding I do, they are in the realm of overkill. I might be happier with some slightly narrower and...

    Pairing issue, maybe?

Pairing issue…maybe? I have a Turbo Vado 4.0, vintage 2022. all was fine when I left Colombia 3 months ago. Upon my return last week I fired up the bike and the mission control app, and it appears that the pairing is hung up. It never gets past the “connecting” message in mission control, and I...

New Vado SL 4.0 - harsh ride!

Might sound goofy but there is a company making laminated bamboo handlebars in New Zealand https://www.passchier.co.nz/product-category/bamboo-handlebars/?v=7516fd43adaa I had a pair on my specialized cirrus and they are amazingly comfortable. At first the flex is a bit disconcerting, but...

    Best wind noise solutions?

Another option is a thin summer neck gaiter worn cap style. I do that frequently, it muffles the worst of the wind noise but doesn’t leave me deaf. Also it is a great sunblock for those of us who are concerned with skin cancer

Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH Cadence Survey

I just use a good lubricant every 100 km or so, I just apply while the bike is hanging from its storage rack, same time I check the cables for lubrication. Admittedly belts dont need that done, however have you ever adjusted a belts tension? I have done it many times in industrial applications...

I thought Class 3 would feel safer on the road

My observation about cycling, be it ebike or pedal bike is that if I am decked out in Lycra and Spandex it seems like a percentage of the drivers out there are aggressive and rude. if I go out in my sandals, shorts, and a button up shirt that percentage seems to drop noticeably, like they are...

    Online E-Bikes - is it a scam?

Why do you say that? If not for the LBS, I wouldn’t be able to drop in on the fly for a new chain, or shifter cables, or to ask questions about adjustments. I definitely would rather spend my $$$ at my LBS than with an online operation….just my personal preference. I like patronizing local...
