Trek Domane+ HP 7 vs Specialized Turbo Creo SL Carbon Comp

@Papadevo - how did you know 15% and did you know by feel or by information from a sensor? @Deacon Blues - I looked at the Watt Wagons, and my primary concerns were: not available now, no place to locally demo and not a particularly aero position. I am used to riding with drop bars, and I'm...

Trek Domane+ HP 7 vs Specialized Turbo Creo SL Carbon Comp

About a week ago, I did a short test ride on a Specialized Turbo Vado SL followed by a Creo SL Carbon Comp. I preferred the riding position of the Creo and was strongly leaning in that direction to enable a fast ~40 mile round trip commute as described: Avid cyclist looking to reduce 40 mile...

Creo - Al vs Comp Carbon

Yeah, it has dropout eyelets as well as a rear rack seat collar and a fender mounting point where the seat stays and seat tube meet. My understanding is that theses features exist on both the E5 Al version as well as the carbon frames.

Hey Stiksandstones - I just read your post from late June and really want to know more about your Creo experience. I’m looking for a fast commuter (drop-bars / aero position) and was leaning towards Creo. I’m really surprised to here that you thought it was under-powered. Can you tell me more?

    A Road-Cyclist Thoughts On E-Bikes

Some really interesting view points here. I am also finding it difficult to find exactly what I want despite the enormous range and breadth of ebikes available. As some of you have seen, I’m looking for a bike to use as a fast commuter, and many of my wishlist items are echoed here. Frankly, the...

Creo - Al vs Comp Carbon

Thanks @Deacon Blues - I think I saw your post about the hill elsewhere and it briefly gave me pause. Then I realized that my route is reasonably flat and I would be adding another few pounds with fenders, rack and panniers. At that point (plus me), the percentage weight changes just aren’t that...

Creo - Al vs Comp Carbon

Hi Specialized fans, I am starting to lean towards a Creo SL for a commuter (see thread here: Commuter eBike for cyclist Has anyone done any back-to-back comparisons of Al vs Comp Carbon? With the Future Shock and some wider tires running low pressure and tubeless, I’m thinking that there is...

Avid cyclist looking to reduce ~40 mile round-trip commute time

@Stefan Mikes - I'm not looking to be "no sweat". In fact, my primary motivation is to try to combine a rather lengthy commute with regular exercise to be more time efficient. That said, I am becoming more and more convinced that having extra power and extra battery is a good thing. I will also...

Avid cyclist looking to reduce ~40 mile round-trip commute time

@rich c - yeah, I get that part. I also doubt I'll end up at 860 miles per month ... if I managed to do it 10 - 15x per month (400 - 600 miles per month), I'd be satisfied. That said, I'm trying to avoid things like motor rebuilds or extended downtime due to service issues. @J.R. - I figured I...

Avid cyclist looking to reduce ~40 mile round-trip commute time

@J.R. - I couldn't agree more. The bike is one aspect, but a lot goes into a daily (or near daily) bike commute routine. Can you guys point me to some good mid-drive vs hub material? I do like the idea of maintenance-free (or maintenance-light). Is it this fact that pushes many commuters to...

Avid cyclist looking to reduce ~40 mile round-trip commute time

Thanks to you both. @WattsUpDude - after reading a number of EBR threads, it does seem like getting more power and/or battery capacity than you think you might need is a good choice. @Timpo - those both look very new and/or unavailable. Any reason you chose to recommend them?

Avid cyclist looking to reduce ~40 mile round-trip commute time

Hi everyone - I'm a new member and have been poking around the forums for a few days. Lots of great information here! I have recently started to explore ebike options as I'm taking a new job with a fairly lousy commute. However, there is a reasonable bike route that is about 21 miles each way. I...
