It doesn't help that BH no longer has a North American presence. If I would of known that would be the case I sure wouldn't have purchased two BH bikes in the past year.

I agree on the rack I just prefer it over a back pack when mountain biking although I never used a rack when competing for obvious reasons. I've never seen fenders on a serious mountain bike. A rack and fenders are a must for me on the street.

I don't know but I'm suspecting the dealer got the batteries from BH to address a warranty claim but then didn't need them. He told me he had two at that price...

Yes, I paid $440, I didn't ask the dealer any questions. I assume he got them without paying somehow from BH. I checked when I bought it and they were going for $1200 CDN full retail.

Well, I fully charged them both. The bike shop I purchased the bike and batteries from has an electrical engineer on staff, he contacted BH and between them they couldn't rectify the issues.

I run 21700 cells on my two BH mountain bikes and find the weight/ power difference noticeable. For 700 batteries they're lighter, provide better range and juice to the motor than my other batteries. Surprisingly the batteries weren't that expensive ( $400 CDN ) or maybe I just got a good deal.
