    Inclement Weather E-Biking

Living in the Pacific Northwest there is some common wisdom - "there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices" If you are determined to ride, there are good insulated bike boots, layers of fleece and gortex and sub zero gloves, balaclavas and googles as well as studded tires...

QR skewer & disk brakes claimed as a contributing factor in fatal accident involving a RadRunner

Much as my heart goes out to any parent who loses a child, this seems a clear case of both negligence and lack of proper parental supervision by the parents who owned the ebike. Simply pulling the battery and putting it in a locked cabinet would have rendered the attractive nuisance (see...

Those kids were 11 years old. From the Rad Web site Who can ride a Rad Power Bikes ebike? Riders must be at least 16 years old (or whatever the minimum age to ride an ebike is in your local area).

Evelo Omega - 200 Mile Review

I looked at many different bikes. I have had many different ebikes. I needed one with more power and torque to overcome limitations being imposed on me by a health challenge. The Como 5.0 was similar in performance to a bike I already owned, a Trek Allant 9.9S. Both required more effort than...

    Upgrading from Cobi.bike to Nyon?

You main issue is more of an Apple one than Bosch. Apple gear is famous for not playing well with others. My polar hrm works quite reliably with my nyon as does my Samsung android phone.

Allant 8s Newbie...what's going on with the Trek Allant line?

The stock rack is great for panniers and provides rock solid support to the rear fender. There are a number of options for seatpost mounted beam racks to support a rear trunk bag that work well on an Allant. My favorite is the rixen Kaul Contour Max Sport. It has to be sourced from Europe but...

Allant 8s Newbie...what's going on with the Trek Allant line?

A Baramind suspension handlebar will go a long way to adding compliance on the front end at low cost and zero maintenance. With the weakness of the euro versus the dollar, this is a good time to buy one. They are made in France and I ordered mine directly from Baramind...

    Allant+ 8s pedal removal

torque them lightly or you will have a hard time removing them when the time comes. To get adequate leverage to remove them when they are really jammed in place, as set of these would be quite handy. https://www.ebay.com/itm/394178125587?hash=item5bc6d8df13:g:aKkAAOSwPq9i36SZ

    Allant+ 8s pedal removal

When you remove them, remember that the right pedal (usually marked with an R) is conventional thread (righty tighty/lefty loosey) while the left pedal is reverse thread. (lefty tighty/righty loosey). Also hit the threads with some grease before installing them so they don't corrode in place on...

    Allant+ 8s pedal removal

I really like these inexpensive ($28.99 shipping included) MTB pedals by Fooker. The pins make them nice and grippy, rendering toe fenders less necessary. They are very light weight and have a nice thin profile making pedal strikes less likely. I have these on my Allant 9.9S. They really...

    Suggestions for off-road headlight?

I do have this light and it is a beast! incredibly bright, large battery reserve, with a dozen light modes to choose from and the ability to keep my phone charged all day. In the bink mode you get over a month of daytime riding with this light.
