Is it possible to have: class 3, mid drive, belt drive, torque sensor, with throttle, under $4000?

That is a very attractive bike and specs at that price point.

    Creo and chainring/cassette configurations

I know the Shimano GRX has sufficient B screw adjustment to accommodate a 46 tooth cog even though its specs say the max is 42. This was done without the use of a wolf tooth goat link and did not even require a longer chain! Whether the same can be done with the Sram etap, I have no idea.

    Creo and chainring/cassette configurations

Not sure on that. My Cannondale topstone Neo carbon 3 came with a 44 tooth chain ring and a 11-40 cassette. I went to 48 tooth and dropped my cadence at 25 mph from 94 to 82 and retained good climbing ability. It took a great bike and made it better.

    Creo and chainring/cassette configurations

go to an 11-46 cassette with a 4 tooth larger chain ring. It will get you more speed in the top gear and keep your climbing power in the bottom one and your XG driver hub and won't have to replace the hub to accommodate a 10 tooth..

    XPremium tannus armour inserts

I had them on a Riese & Muller Delite Mountain with 25.5 x 2.4 Schwalbe Hurricane tires and a Trek Allant 9.9S with 27.5 x 2.8 Schwalbe Johnny Watt tires. The usual run of flats from, staples, nails, pieces of wire from radial tires, etc. The Tannus compressed to around 3-4 mm. They really...

    XPremium tannus armour inserts

I ran Tannus in two bikes for over a year. They reduced but did not eliminate flats. They also made the bike sluggish and dull in its road feel, slowed the bike down by at least 2mph and increased battery consumption. Final verdict after a year long trial...I would rather have to fix a few...

    Enviolo Repair / Replacment

Any capable shop will be able to lace in a new hub to your rim. New spokes are not that expensive and should always be the choice in re-lacing a wheel.

    Disappointment with Allant 7

Perhaps sufficient cadence might be a factor. Bosch motors are well known to perform far better on hill or flats for that matter at a cadence of 70 or more. Grinding at a lower cadence with definitely require more effort in climbing the same hill. My Allant 9.9S climbs the steep hill back up...

This country is paying car drivers nearly $4,000 to switch to an electric bike

There are two ways to share risk and help one another out in the event of catastrophe. One is through private insurance and the other is through government relief and assistance programs. There is a perennial argument going on in the USA as to which route is more humane and which one is most...

This country is paying car drivers nearly $4,000 to switch to an electric bike

Fact is there are "giver" states that pay more in federal taxes than they receive in return and "taker" states that get far more in return than they pay in. I must say I am curious what state you live in. https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/

This country is paying car drivers nearly $4,000 to switch to an electric bike

Every time there is a major storm or natural disaster, a public health crisis, state and local governments become overwhelmed and turn to the federal government for assistance. And the plain fact of the matter is that state and local governments are a truly mixed bag when it comes to "taking...

Riding Clothes - In Praise of Clown Suits

I typically tide three times per week with a group of retired roadies ages from early sixties to early eighties. Our rides are typicall 35-45 miles. The guys are all long term road riders and typically ride in a pace line, swapping out the lead, occasionally separating out into fast and slow...

Looking for a ebike that fits my need

FIrst of all, neither the Trek nor the Specialized have a throttle. They are both pedal assist only. Electric motors are rated at continuous and maximum wattage which measures their power consumption and gives an indication of relative power. Volts x Amps = Watts Watt hours are a...

Looking for a ebike that fits my need

The Allant almost meets the OPs specs as does the Vado. Neither of them truly qualify as "powerful" I own and really enjoy my Allant 9.9S. However both the Trek and Specialized are designed to meet the lower power European specs while the Evelos are speced for the US market only and thus...
