    Range phobia

I just took the Vado 4.0 on the same ride this morning, at the same approx. speeds... I made it back home with about 60% battery left. :)

46t or 48t sprocket for Vado SL 4.0

I was going to get a larger chain ring for my eMTB so I didn't have to pedal like a madman at the higher speeds. That's no longer a consideration. However I can see the benefit of a larger chainring to reduce the wear on your smallest sprocket. 🤔

    Range phobia

So now I have to totally and completely rethink my ebike rides, and even my ebikes! You're right @Stefan Mikes the Stance E+ is a mountain bike. I bought it because it was full suspension, and I softened the ride so that it was riding like a Buick. More recently I threw the sensor on the...

    Range phobia

So I experienced range phobia this morning on my bike ride. It was just a 20 mile ride, and my Stance E+2 was fully charged. Granted I used high assist, and my speeds were consistently just over 20mph... Just past the halfway point my battery indicator dropped down to 40%. Was I even going to...

mid-drive torque is turning my rear wheel

I second that. It sounds like the skewer is not exerting enough clamping pressure. Get better skewers and/or add locking washers.

Ti On One Hardtail BBS HD Build - Complete

Two thoughts come to mind... 1) There is a burr on one of the pistons? 2) You got something in there like sand or a metal chip that's binding up? I've never had to deal with anything like that before... Let me know what you find!

mid-drive torque is turning my rear wheel

That's steel, right? More flex in steel than aluminum... Could be why your stays are moving! You were not clear if the movement was temporary or permanent.

    NEW BBSHD M625 AND BBS02 M325

Ah good information... they really made that a closed up system, didn't they. Heck, you even have to use their battery. It sounds like IBM back in the day when they tried to close up their system with the PCjr I think it was called... or maybe I am thinking about microchannel architecture...

    Degase

Actually, a better option is to convert this into an ebike... I've got the bottle battery... gonna order the mid-drive motor tomorrow... Everything else is already there... 9 speeds, disc brakes, light weight, comfortable riding...

    Degase

We are not that bad here... just about to tip over into the $5 range... I'm sure people are going crazy here... looking for alternate forms of transportation or ways to save money on gas. So, what's your best option? 1990 Geo Metro XFI or ebike? Ha! I'll take one of these, but in a mid drive...

Differences between ebike chain and regular bike chain...

Dang, I didn't catch this... I somehow ordered a KMC X8 chain, because the Amazon title said it was an ebike chain. I don't doubt it's a very good chain, but the KMC website doesn't call it an ebike chain. https://www.kmcchain.com/en/series/x Meanwhile, KMC does have an ebike series chain...

How long are parts available for ebikes?

So I've got this DIY ebike, that I suspect I will be able to keep on running, one way or another, for the next 20 years if I want... Not so sure about my LBS bikes... Also not so sure I'll be able to find parts on ebay...
