I finished the bike this morning, and went for a ride to test the range of the battery. There's no tricking the laws of physics. I got a 7ah battery, and I used up 60% of it in turbo mode. I was riding fairly fast so there was a bit of wind resistance, and I went about 7.4 miles. So I'll plan...

I didn't make much progress today... I had to move dirt and plant grass... you know how that goes... But I did manage to drop the motor into the frame. And that took longer than expected because the Luna eccentric adapters added some width to the bb, so I had to cut some custom spacers to mount...

My eccentric adapters just arrived... Thinking about starting tomorrow morning on the bb. :D

@EMGX I like your seat too. I have all ARS except for one Serfas RX-921V Road/MTB Comfort RX Saddle. And I'm not convinced that is any better than the ARS. I need to start thinking about bags and baskets soon too! Looks like you had a good ride. It was too wet here to go very far... maybe...

I had forgotten you mentioned that the frame originally had disc brakes... So you already had mounts... cool. and the hub had mounts for the disc! Looks like you're all set!

@PedalUma Is your build done? Do you have a happy customer now? Over here I designed the bracket that is going to hold the bottle battery... Tomorrow I'll print it in Onyx Pro410 which is a high strength resin!

Don't you hate that... time to drill a new hole, reroute the hydro tube, and bleed the brakes! :eek:

@PedalUma Now that I have the bike mostly dialed in, it's pretty good riding! The wheels spin fairly true, everything seems to have been greased well, and not over tightened. The brakes needed to be set, and the shifter still needs some tweaking, but other than that I'm ready to start working...

@EMGX , yep, the eccentric adapter has been ordered... just waiting for it to arrive! :)

I think the chain guard can go too! And then it's time to start electrifying it! I've got a 36V 500W mid drive motor, and a 7aH battery!

I'll keep the Ashtabula too! 🤣 Something else to play with this winter...

The box has arrived. Our weather forecast calls for 70% chance of rain today. I think it's a good day to stay inside and assemble, disassemble, reassemble what's in the box!
