    Ebike for Long Distance Touring

I don't know if you are going for sponsorship but that may help you get some better batteries. If you have three 500 series Bosch batteries I think you can easily make it work. My long distances rides have always had two panniers on the front wheel, two on the rear rack. Think about getting a...

Splish Splash Took a Bath :)

Yesterday I took my Powerfly out for it's first mud bath. There has been a lot of rain here in Northern California and some of the streams that are normally very small have GROWN into rivers. Here's a picture of me fording one at high speed. Needless to says I got a little wet! Great day. jeff

    Pedal suggestion?

(Link Removed - Attachment No Longer Exists) I had a great ride in the mud and water today. It was my first time out with my new "Spank Oozy Trail Pedal Emerald Green" pedals. The grip was fantastic, there are screw-in nubbies on both sides. Worked great!!! jeff

    Need a bike light

You can also get something that is WAY TOO powerful (if that is possible). I got the niterider 3600. It has way more brightness than I actually need. The reviews consistently rate it as the brightest light available. It can be mounted on the handlebar or helmet, I have mine on the handlebar...

Nyon Upgrade in USA worked out of the box!

I have an iPhone and used an "in-app purchase". Via a UK gift card I purchased on e-bay - I redeemed the UK gift card toward my UK iTunes account.

One of the things you might want to look at is the "Boomerang" it contains a motion sensor, cell phone chip and a GPS. jeff

Nyon Upgrade in USA worked out of the box!

Bob, What I had to do was pretty silly. I created a user that lived in London using my company's London office mailing address. I then had to get a gift card from a UK ebay seller and apply that to my newly created account. A pretty big pain in the tokis but it worked. jeff

    Looking for extended Range

I noticed the bottle cage on the bottom of your top-tube. Did it come that way? Were there "bosses" on the top bar? jeff

Anyone have a 1-page guide to decipher Haibike names ?

WOW, 79 different bikes to choose from. I'm pretty sure that's more models than most car makers have. jeff

Secret Shopper @ Motostrano in Redwood City

A few days ago I stopped by the Motostrano bicycle shop in Redwood City, CA. I played the roll of an interested bicycle aware customer, here's my review. Their shop is a standalone brick building in an older part of Redwood City. There are a few on street parking spots out front and a small...

    Ebike specific Chain

Rick, I looked at yesterday's ride. Seems like no problem with cadence. 26.55 MPH at 79 RPM. I have 700Cx38 tires on my XM700+. (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) jeff

    Ebike specific Chain

Rick Imby, I don't understand your concern about top end of a Bosch system. I have a few of them and they can all hit 20mph without breaking a sweat. The two street bikes are limited to 29mph which I am able to achieve on flat paved streets. Now, running without any power is another story ;)...

    Ebike specific Chain

I'm pretty sure that these chains will give you whiter teeth and fresher breath. In all seriousness I'd stick with a Shimano 10 speed chain, the amount of force exerted on the chain is the same whether from a pedal or a motor. jeff

    Headlight for Haibike SDURO FullNine

I just posted a how-to for the Bosch rear light, it's pretty much the same for the headlight. You have to pull the left crank, remove the left cover, install the light plug into the first socket on the left and you are good to go. Probably a 45 minute job with the right tools...

Easy install of a tail light on a Trek XM700+

If you own one of these bikes you have a front light, but no taillight. Well, that's pretty easy to fix. I purchased two parts, a "Bosch" and a rear cable kit. Parts: 1) Rear Rack 2) (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) 3) Cable Kit 4) An old credit card cut into strips I removed the left crank...

any suggestions for an older, 300 lb, tall rider with a bad knee for an electric bike

I purchased a Trek XM700+ They make up to a 60" frame, the 55" I got is actually a little large for me. The motor is plenty powerful to get up the hills. You have a great retailer there http://www.trekbicyclesuperstore.com jeff
