Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I need a rear rack for my new Como 4.0. The bike shop did not have one that fit. I saw a review video with a Rack Time rack but it did not say which one. Which rear racks fit?

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

My new Como 4.0 is at the bike shop ready for pickup when they open at noon. I am very excited. Since I got my Veego in July I have ridden 3300 miles on it. In many ways I love the bike. But. Where I ride the streets are full of glass, debris and nails. Fixing tires with the rear hub motor is...

    Ride Scoozy Veego Semi Fat

I’ve got 1000 miles on mine. I have needed customer service and it has been excellent. I don’t care about power, just want a slight boost. The bike itself is pretty cheap and I have had issues but it’s working fine. I don’t know if Rad would be any better.

60mi Round Trip Commute - Advice?

Sure I’d be happy to help. Don’t want to be so negative, but I’ve got a lot of experience with la and bike commuting.

60mi Round Trip Commute - Advice?

I live in the San Fernando Valley and have ridden thousands of miles covering the area you would be riding in. I have also been a bike commuter from the west side to downtown, from Culver City to mar vista and from Encino to chatsworth. Sorry to tell you this but your plan is borderline...

3rd broken spoke in two months. Specialized Como

Find someone near you who really knows how to build wheel. Your bike shop probably messed with the tension when they fixed the first spoke.

Who's the oldest and youngest rider here?

68 next month. Recovering from cancer and taking boatloads of prescriptions. In the past I was a devoted long distance club rider who has done well over 100 centuries and a few doubles. These days I ride my ebike roughly 10 miles every morning. Currently cancer free. It’s insanely hot right now...

3rd broken spoke in two months. Specialized Como

Something isn’t right with your wheel. It probably came with the wheel improperly tensioned. I had a trek road bike where I had broken spokes ride after ride. Turns out the bike was shipped with overly tightened spokes. I tend to do a lot of upgrading so I ended up having wheels costume built...

    Bafang and torque sensing

I had the chance this weekend to try some bikes with torque sensing. It left me with the impression that torque sensing is over hyped. I’ll probably just go ahead and use the bbs02 or bbshd. The cadence sensing, which is what I am accustomed to, feels a little better to me.

    Need recommendations...

How long and steep is the hill? I have a rear hub bike that easily goes up a hill near me that is about .2 miles and quite steep. It does fine. However I live near a mountain that is a 3 mile climb and I think it would overheat the motor. I urge you to let her pick out the bike. Bikes are...

    Bafang and torque sensing

It is sometimes hard to do research because products change but old info persists. Am I correct in understanding that as of today - mid August 2019 - Bafang makes a motor with torque sensing for purpose-built bikes but not for adding to an existing bike. Is there an aftermarket torque sensor for...

E-Bikes not welcome @ CicLAvia Hollywood August 18?

I went to ciclavia today. I saw many many ebikes. There were also a lot of electric scooter riders. Even saw an electric unicycle. Electric vehicles may have been 10% or more of participants. There was even a Tern booth where they were displaying electric bikes. Unfortunately it was more of a...

    20" vs 26"

I’ve ridden plenty of 20 inchers and 26 inchers. I am 5’3.5” and I like a small bike. My ebike is a Ride Scoozy veego semifat. It is a 20 inch low step folder. 20 inch tires are a little less stable which is mostly noticeable on fast downhills. They are more sensitive to pot holes and debris...

E-Bikes not welcome @ CicLAvia Hollywood August 18?

I plan to ride my ebike in ciclavia this weekend. The rules say you can use electric assist if you need it for health reasons or disability. I am a few months out from chemo therapy and am only able to ride any distance with electric assist.

Ebike Battery Replacement & Repair Service

A couple of weeks ago my battery stopped charging on my RideScoozy veego. There was clearly a problem with the charger and RideScoozy immediately sent me a new one. Unfortunately the bad charger damaged the battery and it still would not charge. RideScoozy was willing to help me with the battery...

    Inexpensive aka cheap bikes?

I got the Ride Scoozy Semi Fat which is a step thru small wheel folder for $1100 from Ride Scoozy but sometimes it sells for $1000 on Amazon. I am 5’3.5” and the bike is very adjustable. The Aventon Pace 350 is also $1000. My bike is fine for most uses. I would not use it for serious off road...

Bike Wheels with adequate weight limit

In the years when I was a serious club rider doing lots of long distance rides I had a few different trek bikes and I was well under 200 lbs. I also suffered lots of broken spokes. It got to the point that when I got a trek bike the first thing I did was get Mavic wheels. My opinion is that...

How many miles do you have on your ebike?

I’ve got about 320 miles on my Veego Semi-Fat that I’ve had about a month. It’s been 95-100+ degrees almost every day so riding is limited to the cool part of the morning.

    Carrying spare battery

That makes sense. I can put my tools and spare in one pannier and the battery in another and not use the trunk pack. I forgot that I used to do that several years ago. Should have thought of that. Thanks.

    Carrying spare battery

When you carry it in a pannier on one side does it affect the feeling of balance?
