Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

When I got my 4.0 Vado SL step-through a couple of weeks ago there were 3 black plastic objects included with the documentation. Two were identical and I figured out they are for protecting the brake pads from inadvertently closing when a wheel is taken off. Don't know what the 3rd object is...

Stefan, Do you feel the raised area in the middle of the pedals? The shoes I wear are flat on the bottom, so I like the idea of a flat pedal.

Thanks. I'll measure the stock pedals to compare.

My feet aren't that large, size 9, just wide. So these are significantly wider? I can't find dimensions on the stock pedals.

I have a new Vado Sl 4.0 step-through with the SRAM 11 speed. Compared to my non electric hybrid 3 x 8 with Shimano Deore, the shifting is noisier, a bit of a clunk when downshifting, but no grinding. I haven't had a chance to see if it is the same with the motor off. I do ease off when...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

The step through does not have mounting points on the seat tube like the regular Vado Sl. It does have two sets of mounting points so one set is likely meant for the range extender. Hard to believe they wouldn't have a cable long enough to reach.

Did your bike come with the Mastermind TCU or the older TCU that just shows battery level? And are the indicators and pin function on mission control so you would need to ride with your phone?

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Richard could be right. Here are the instructions that came with the email ( I'm not at my home where my bike is to see if there really is an update for the older TCU) but anyone can give it a try and report back: Get the Update Download Mission Control. Already have it? Skip to step four...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Regarding a "girls" bike, my friends were mostly just pushing my buttons for a bit of fun, but your point is well taken. Interestingly Specialize characterizes the grips as "Body Geometry Women's Contour." Are men's hands so different from women's? Ironically, I noticed a bit of numbness in my...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I got the email. If you watch the video it is clear they are referring to the Mastermind TCU that now comes with the 2022 Vado Sl 5.0 and the standard i.e. non SL new bikes. One hopes they will make this TCU available for older bikes so one can update firmware over the air, and most...

Stefan, Since you said you were "strongly interested in buying Vado SL 4.0 EQ ST size M, White Sage colour!" I thought I would post a comment since 3 days ago I had delivered to me a Vado Sl 4.0 EQ size M! Color, White Sage! I've taken two rides on it so I thought I would post a...

    Turbo Como SL 5.0

I took a test ride on the Turbo Como SL 5.0 in February. I've been riding a Cannondale analogue hybrid 3x8 speed and was looking for something to help my 73 year old self a bit getting up mostly relatively short moderate hills. The Como SL felt heavy, I believe it weighs about 48 pounds. I...

What driver under new Vado SL Sunrace cassette?

In another thread I believe it was said that it wasn’t a good idea to turn the motor on and off while riding. Is that really true? I’m getting the step through 4.0 SL in April and was looking forward to switching at times, while riding to motor off. For example on the flats, or just to force...
