VW got into electric in a big way because they got caught in dieselgate. There have been reports of a lot of software bugs in the early cars. I'd look at some owner experiences before jumping on board.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested, but bike shops could offer charging services. They might even think of it as a loss leader, because people will hang around the shop while their battery is charging, a great time for point-of-sale purchases.

Since many people are buying a second charger because of the 80% limit and trickle charge, would it be cheaper to build a unit that ONLY charged to 80% at 1 amp? The vast majority of people still have their original chargers for the times they need to get to 100%. Perhaps a cheaper solution?
