The answer is in the question.
This is happening to a lot of "used ebikes for sale" out there. The owners burn them out (overheat, welded, shot nylon gears), lie that it needs a new battery, and try to pass off the problem to the next sucker.
What's wrong with them now?
You want to mutilate and destroy a factory welded piece, then fasten some replacement that can be potentially weaker and dangerous?
Because they can. They often do it knowingly that the customer is too desperate to be without a bike all season.
Ebike buyers that choose to internet mail order really need to man up.
Kiddies that want their hand held for their ebike to be treated like a Tesla dealership, that's what a LBS is for.
That's because all NCM bikes use "bicycle parts".
Having assembled half a dozen NCM bikes this season, they are assembled with very readily off-the-shelf bicycle parts.
Not like those crappy Himiway or Lectric bikes with 20" circus clown wheels.
When the ebike looks like a pedal bicycle, I...
Don't worry about it. Just be happy there's an e-something on the way to you.
There are loads of folks who are still on the fence buried in reviews, maybe they will get theirs in 2023.
Not even a sensible comparison.
Car's aren't mail ordered, and the dealer will address all issues almost immediately.
A buyer has all grounds to return their mail order ebike for a warranty exchange or refund. Now how long do you think that will take to resolve in this yet another...
Your ebike in particular, all electronics (controller) might be running full juice, holding back a relay to throw current to the motor.
Similar to cars, if you leave the ignition turned just before the starter solenoid engages, for example to listen to the radio, that can drain the car battery...
"bars" are very approximate, and are constantly being sampled. Only the manufacturers know how this part works. How often do you stop, turn off your ebike, and then turn it back on later to see it gained one bar?
An LCD display is drawing maybe milliamps... that's why calculators can be solar...
Hello RandyR New Member.
Is this a staffed EBR review? Because there is another member that appears to be on the payroll for that, so I am now confused :(
Exactly.
These same DIY folks are always on a crusade to preach how everyone should be DIY'ing it, and should any one dare buy a quality branded product, or buy their ebike from a LBS, they are seen as suckers for having "paid through the A$$".
Agreed.
DIY has its merits only when it works...
Then you bought a bike too small for you, and now you are trying to hack it up to your size.
I wouldn't even dare trust a 300mm "extension". That's 1 whole foot of metal that was never tested on the ebike. I wouldn't even trust that on a pedal bike. Most bolt-ons are for pedal bikes and don't...
A battery left on the ebike protects the contacts on the ebike from rain.
Most seats are weatherproof (not leather), removing that and you risk water pooling into the bike frame.
Not if the item was shipped directly from the seller.
Ships from and sold by Amazon = Jeff himself is the reseller of this item, and it's stored in one of many amazon fullfilment centers ready to 2day prime.
Sold by "Chinese seller" and Fulfilled by Amazon = The seller ships all his product to...
You nailed it.
This is the part many just don't understand. Seasoned ebike owners assume everyone plays safe, when the truth is that there are a lot of affluent punks that just mail order an e-whatever for fun because it's easy to impulse buy and checkout with their phones, and then the fun...
