Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Vs turbo Vado 3 IGH

Yes. You can. Just need the enviolo app.

Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Vs turbo Vado 3 IGH

It is very responsive. I commute and exercise with mine. No complaints on the automatiq. I had a defective drivetrain. They swapped my motor, sensors, and wire harnesses just to rule out all at once and test my parts in their lab. Just got it back this week and still testing but everything seems...

Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Vs turbo Vado 3 IGH

The Vado 3.0 will shift identical to the Gazelle so if you hated that, the Vado 3.0 will likely bother you too. What bugs you about the automatiq? Maybe I can answer or address some of your concerns (or reinforce them).

Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Vs turbo Vado 3 IGH

I love my 5.0 IGH. Even with the warranty fix I needed. That said, if you commute on road a lot, the Garmin Radar on the 5.0 is nice too. The torque difference will be noticing though, if you do a lot of hilly terrain. Do you want class 1 or class 3? May be some options that can save you some...

    Turbo Vado Front Rack

Finally. Not convinced I’ll get one but I wanted to see it in action anyways. I wish it was like the R&M rack with the extra bottle mounts. Oh well. I wonder if it will hold the basket from the Como SL?

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

It was a quick fix. As expected, one of the harness clips didn’t fully seat and vibrated loose on the road.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Hoping to ride my bike soon. Finally got my motor replaced. Test rode fine. Drove the bike home. Won’t power on now. Same behavior as if I try to turn on the TCD2 on my wife’s with the battery pulled. So probably a loose connection from the wiring harness (Specialized had the LBS replace my...

Specialized Mission Control App Details & Settings

I noticed that this weekend. I feel like I liked the older GUI with bigger tiles. But I agree with you. It is definitely snappier.

2022 Vado 5.0 IGH speed issue

Again. I posted on a similar issue a few weeks ago. I was getting slippage in the pedals above 24 mph or so and cadence went up but speed didn’t. Specialized thinks it’s my motor based on symptoms and other claims they’ve received. The sent out a new motor, wiring harness, and speed sensor for...

2022 Vado 5.0 IGH speed issue

I have been to 28 in the 80s for cadence so something would be wrong.

Is there a strength between the Turbo Vado 5.0 step through and standard?

Maybe? But I know I’ve ridden the Charger and it felt more forward than a cruiser / upright to me. I still think it’s their best non-cargo frame for my taste for a daily. Because it’s a single wheel it tilts with the bike. My wife has the small step through frame and still leans it a bit to get...

Is there a strength between the Turbo Vado 5.0 step through and standard?

Look up the Burley Coho. We got that for shopping at the farmers market or grocer. Because it is towed and has its own axel, it can help with weight distribution and getting it off your frame. I’m about an inch shorter than you but very similar story. I was lineman but found out my shoulder...

Is there a strength between the Turbo Vado 5.0 step through and standard?

I was similar. Somewhere between 305 and 320. I’m at 230 now. Same situation, wide frame built like a truck. I even need pedal extenders because my feet are too wide for standard pedal width. The 5.0 is nice and the brakes are fine. I even tow my daughter on a recumbent trailer. Probably another...

2022 Vado 5.0 IGH speed issue

If you want to test the hub, you can test it manually. Download the Enviolo app, power on the bike, press and hold the white button on the hub and pair it to the app. You can set the Enviolo to manual shift mode and shift it in increments from your phone. You can force it into the top gear...

Jones H Bar on Turbo Vado: Relocating the Headlight

Need some more pictures of you guy’s final install. Interested to see how it turned out.

Is there a strength between the Turbo Vado 5.0 step through and standard?

Are you over 300 lbs? While it could be fine, that’s the structural weight limit Specialized rates it to. I would look at some of the bikes rated for larger folks if you were. If you’re above 250 but below 300, you’d probably be ok but don’t exceed 300 with cargo. If you are cresting 300 and...

New : Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Belt Drive

Because there is no 4 in IGH. 3 is manual shift and 5 is auto shift. I guess they didn’t think the slight torque bump from the 3 to 4 would sell enough on the IGH.

2022 Vado 5.0 IGH speed issue

You can use mission control to create or modify the Mastermind TCU graphics. The graph of gear index is in there. I use it a lot. It shows 9 bars for the 9 pseudo gears the automatiq goes through. Smart also requires you to put in ride settings to adjust for you. So it’s not going to be a menu...

Is there a strength between the Turbo Vado 5.0 step through and standard?

I prefer the standard over step through because I prefer being able to get off saddle and not have a bottle cage in my groin. Either are fine for the terrain the Vado is designed for.

2022 Vado 5.0 IGH speed issue

Enviolo offers a cadence to speed calculator for its hubs on their website as well. I’ve had issues with mine, but haven’t confirmed the fix yet. When mine wasn’t acting up I was able to (on a no wind day) hit 29 - 30 on a flat road. Cadence was I think low to mid 80s. For some reason I recall...
