Need New Tires... Marathon -or- Marathon?

Cool, and thx. I need to think about this. Currently I have Rocket Rons. They are working really nice off road, but they are starting to show wear. I have had one flat so far. Since primary purpose is commute these look like they make sense.

A Couple of Bosch Drive System Issues

So changing the subject slightly...its going to rain in the Bay area tomorrow (go figure...we are in drought situation) and I will not be riding. I will strip down my bike to better understand the weather sealing. Somewhere buried in the threads someone mentioned they oiled the bearings on the...

Experiment: Riding e-bike without the "e"

@stevenast - sure make me jealous of performance drive. However, I'm still laughing at "Turbo all the Way" Shea!

    Haibike FS RX Wattage 250?

Interesting read, I have 2014 KTM with Bosch Active, but I think the new ones are Performance. I completely with @eDean about the way the Bosch system works. I have taken the bike up very steep hills, where I would spin out and have to push. It seems "to know" that I need all the help I can get...

Need New Tires... Marathon -or- Marathon?

Thx, seems odd, is 27.5 not a popular size?

Need New Tires... Marathon -or- Marathon?

Umm, so I'm confused on tire sizes. From what I can tell, I cannot get Marathon Plus for 27.5" Am I correct?

    Shimano STePS

I'm looking for a new chain for my Bosch powered bike I found a Shimano chain advertised for Bosch/STEPS. I think J.R. is correct, we are going to see some good competition. Any prediction of the e-bike landscape in 3 years?

A Couple of Bosch Drive System Issues

Hey Court, I think I get your points, but not sure. In a dry environment, it seems the Bosch design is pretty good. I have read that the front sprocket wears more quickly than normal (it costs $20.00 in the US) and the chain stretches. At 600 miles on my bike (which is different than the...

Experiment: Riding e-bike without the "e"

LoL...good news on the wallet and Turbo all the way...I like it. With the advent of electric cars, the drivers are getting what is called "Range Anxiety." Basically they are stuck if they are out of charge, so they continually worry about charge. Luckily we can still peddle, but in some of the...

Experiment: Riding e-bike without the "e"

This is mostly rambling, might be of interest for this who don't have an ebike. Details: Commute is 14 miles roundtrip Going to work is downhill Going home up hill Total elevation change is about 650 feet in one direction Bike has Bosch Active Line mid-mount motor. Since I bought the bike I...

Taking the Bosch motor down to 0 range....

BTW, its kinda funny, I have to read all the other subject forums to understand the ebike ecosystem since there are no KTM bikes in the US. Actually, it makes me re-think where I should post. Perhaps I should have posted my 3000' ride to the Bosch forum since it was using a Bosch motor. In most...

Purchasing over internet (vs local bike shop) - tax savings

BTW, when buying from a local bike shop, investigate how the service center operates. Mine requires you to leave the bike a least a week for a tune-up! You can't schedule it! I'm glad they are busy, but leaving the bike for a week is too long. I can understand their view when busy, but I think...

Taking the Bosch motor down to 0 range....

Power to the motor. I didn't want to experiment and drain the battery fully...but if I was stuck on a hill I probably would :) I posted info about 3000' ride on the KTM forum...I'm guessing you don't read that :) Here is the web page with the map and stats of the ride. The UI is funky, but if...

Taking the Bosch motor down to 0 range....

So I wondered what would happen if I took the range to Zero on the Bosch Gen 2 Active line mid mount motor. Well it doesn't go to zero, it displays two dashes. The Battery meter still has one tick, and power is still applied. The total range was 40 miles over 3 trips with total altitude climb of...

A Couple of Bosch Drive System Issues

RE: I broke down this morning and ordered a Rotwild E1+ FS 27.5 but I am assuming that EddieJ will pay half as he suggested it to me in this topic. Wow, cool and intense bike. I think we lost EddieJ on this forum, so might have to find him on another forum in the UK to get the pay-off :-)

A Couple of Bosch Drive System Issues

Hi Lumos, Nice post, butI am having trouble following some of it, specifically when the Bosch system is failing. With your US bike based bike, have you had any troubles with the Bosch system? Are you attributing broken spokes as a result of the Bosch drive? I ride in CA, we a currently in a 4...

E-joe Koda vs Prodeco Genesis V5 vs Dillinger Stealth Outlaw

Oh hi, What to you consider hills? Everyone seems to have a different definition. In my case, my roundtrip commute is 15 miles. Going to work its all down hill. Coming home its the opposite, gradual up hill with two steeper hill climbs at the end. The elevation difference is about 800 feet...

Full suspension ebikes for hard trail riding

Why limit it to FS? In the "old days" we would heavy trail ride with no suspension. I've taken my new bike heavy trail riding, and the fact that is lighter than most FS is important, I think. On the downhills I've actually started bunny hopping, which was a very necessary skill on the solid...

Bosch Battery Keys in the USA!

My originals say AXA stamped on the plastic. A number is stamped on the metal part of the key. BTW, not so trivial a subject, another section of the forum compares Bosch to a hub design, and mentions in the "cost of ownership" section, the cost of the keys!
