    Torque Wrench

I guess we can go way overboard talking about torque wrenches. Generally the Beam torque wrenches are very accurate and hold there accuracy over time. Usually they cost the least. No matter what, the bolt should be moving when reading the beam or listening/feeling the click. Fastner theory 101...

Best parts to combat wear issues on a Mountain bike, speed pedalec.

I have 800 miles on Bosch Active line. Each time I ride I have about 700 feet of uphill. Weekend rides have had as much as 3000' My chain stretch is at midpoint of spec, front chain ring (15 tooth) is showing signs of wear but works fine. Rear Cassette is looking good. I have the front chain...

Aftermarket Batteries for Bosch Coming in 2015

I did take my bike to my LBS. I have active line. We swapped every combination of battery and head unit between Active and Performance line bikes...all worked. In the Bosch thread I posted about my unsuccessful attempt to buy a Performance line motor to upgrade my bike :-(

    Upgrading a Bosch motor...Not.

I started a thread here: http://electricbikereview.com/community/threads/early-adopters.2581/ I wanted to upgrade my Active line motor to Performance line motor on my 2014 KTM. My LBS tried to order a Performance line motor, and after two weeks, Bosch came back and said no. Bosch will only...

    Early adopters....

Well, Bosch will not sell me an upgrade motor. Or rather, would not let my LBS order one for me. I will post more details on the Bosch group.

    Thudbuster Failure Ouch!

In re-reading this thread it occurred to me that at 66kph (41 mph) I'm not sure I would be sitting down all that hard on the seat...seems odd. Anyway after 800miles of trails and a top sped of 32 mph downhill I don't see any cracks or deformations.

KTM Launching Electric Fat Bike with Bosch Centerdrive

RE: AFAIK KTM does not sell e-bikes in the USA am I correct? I believe that is still correct. I got mine in SF Bay area as demo's when KTM brought them here for a show. I was just at the dealer and they said they still can't get them. I missed this thread, the Fatty sounds pretty cool. My...

    Early adopters....

Basically I may not be able to return the motor, and the unknown is the mount. It should be a drop in replacement on the mounts, but no guarantee. I tested my head unit on a performance line bike and it booted up saying performance line, so it seems the HUs are interchangeable (just cosmetically...

    Early adopters....

There are many fragmented thoughts in making this post, so hopefully you can bear with me.... Perhaps, I should post in Bosch thread, as this is about Bosch Mid-Drives. I bought some e-bikes with Bosch Active Line, 2014 models. I am trying to upgrade from Active to Performance line. I mention...

    Life span of an eBike

I took by Bosch mid drive bike in for service today. I have Active line. I asked about upgrading to Performance line. Seems the current Bosch position is to replace only with what you have. My LBS is digging deeper for me.

    No power -- any ideas?

wow, to confirm it was a pretty much a sudden failure? Was it ever expose to water? Submerged? Be interesting if they give you any real info as to what happened to the motor.

    What's the Scorecard on Mid-drive?

That's good feedback...So, it must come down to the quality of the design. There are posts floating around about how difficult some people found fixing flats on rear hubs.

    What's the Scorecard on Mid-drive?

Just a small clarification, the bike can go as fast as you can peddle, the assist just cuts off...in my case at 16 mph. Also I do not understand the "MD is complicated" comments from @vincent713. My bike shifts smoothly just like any non-ebike with a rear derailleur. I assume the quality of the...

    torque specification?

You'll require a very expensive torque wrench, actually I would be suprised if a bike shop had a wrench accurate to .1 Nm at a load of 1 Nm

Is MSRP/MAP holding back ebike sales growth?

So one could just make their own website for price discussions and no bike sponsors. You could fund it with Adsense. I suppose we would all visit it once, and then again when buying another bike. For the record, I discussed pricing with my dealer, bought two bikes that don't even have an MSRP...

    Technology: New Chainless E-Bike

Cool on the review. Actually this idea does not seem that interesting, sounds like hills kill it and it is another example of when an e-bike is not a bike...in that if the Battery is dead, then you go no where.

Suspension seat post vs suspension fork

+1 for fork suspension and suspension seat post. Another consideration is your lower back. Anything to absorb some jarring. I have had lower back surgery, (sounds like a number on this board have.) I don't want a disc fusion, so I want to protect my back. I got a hard tail because I wanted a...

What is the choice of E-Bike in Humid Climate

Actually this is a stem off the thread "mid-drive vs hub." I just spent two weeks in Asia...Singapore, Taipei, Shenzhen. Saw many e-bikes. All hub drive and nobody peddling. Even though I'm a mid-drive guy, I would do the same if living in a humid climate. The wonderful dry CA weather makes it...
