    Why Do Lithium Packs Fail?

OK that make sense, 6P4S for each 12V pack. They may have been used in an application without a BMS and run very hard so that would explain why some got out of balance want were killed, but I wonder if there were connections for the BMS to be connected externally, as it's strange that some...

    Why Do Lithium Packs Fail?

Did the LiFePo4 packs you bought each have a BMS? Also if each of the 4 packs had 6 cells in series, the original nominal voltage for the pack would be more than 12V, so something there does not seem right. I think you ended up buying junk. Buying used cells is a risky business.

Giant Cargo E-bike with 28mph motor

I don't think anyone is considering taking this bike on trails? Depending on the drivetrain the high speed may be necessary to get the motor rpm in the right range for maximum torque, especially when the battery is at 50% SOC.

Giant Cargo E-bike with 28mph motor

Pretty nice looking cargo bike, if it can really be delivered for $5000 and is reliable. What brand is the IGH, the warranty period, and does warranty cover the drivetrain?

Sure would be nice if it was a battery though. :)

Have you stocked up on bike parts in case of future shortages?

I did quite some time ago, tires mostly since I needed some, but I got way more than I needed. I got other parts such as a chain, but I don't see supply issues with those, or didn't at the time. i got some other accessories that were constantly out of stock, but tubes, tires, and tire armour...

    A look inside a Juiced 52V 13Ah battery.

MikeL, that's amazing. They must have some people not awake during battery assembly, but also no QC because this type of problem could easily be caught. You are right the BMS saved this battery as well, it was shutting down the output as the one cell group dipped too low. I don't think my...

    A look inside a Juiced 52V 13Ah battery.

I got some time to reassemble the battery. Since I didn't have large heatshrink to encase the battery I had to bandage it up instead. Probably give it a test run a bit later today.

Bosch Smart System, Kiox 300, PowerTube 750, eBike Flow App

More planned obsolesce through proprietary components with restricted sales that continue to soak as much funds from customers while they pretend they are your best friends. Maybe they will remotely disable your bike if they don't like your facebook post.

Class 3 Bikes: What Do Manufacturers Know That We Don't Know?

People pay more for class 3. People don't buy class 1 if they want class 3.

Needs a real rack instead of that toy one, but definitely like the ideas in this bike.

Bafang Forum - I just sent this message to Biktrix regarding the Unprogrammable Canbus

Maybe not. There is some debate on whether a Bafang motor with the Canbus controller can be upgraded to the X1. Maybe they changed some plug or internal mounting, I don't think any one has said yet (at least not on this forum), but the company behind the controller has been saying it won't...

Depending on the plug, if you can safely measure the voltage of the charger (you don't want to be shorting anything if a probe slips), that would give you a good indication if it is the charger.

I use these D30 Wrist guards by Flexmeter when I need the best protection. https://amazon.com/gp/product/B017HZ9OX4 Another big advantage of e-bikes, much less safety gear is required.

    Good price for that bike.

    Frey CC

Well either should work, but I was originally suggesting checking the voltage on the battery. if it is at full charge then obviously the bike has a problem. If it is saying the voltage it is 88% of full charge then the problem must be the charger, or the BMS inside the battery. However since...

You should measure the voltage of the battery with a meter in case it is an error on the bike meter, but charger is a good bet; With the cheap chargers abound I'm surprised there are not more charger issues.

    BarnBoy’s Realmax SX-13, 8kW eScooter Adventures….

Yes electric unicycle, unfortunately it's not a cycle so a bit misnamed, some prefer the term solowheel, but that turned into a brand name, others like mono-wheel; however EUC is the term that stuck. I figured anyone into the powered scooters would know about similar PEV such as the one-wheel...
