    Bosch ebike motor question

Yes, mileage is managed in the motor itself, not the display.

Ebike battery house fire in Australia

No one is arguing that balancing is not important. A quality/properly functioning BMS will balance the cells without charging any of the cells above 4.2V

Ebike battery house fire in Australia

I’m pretty sure the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 use LiPo. Everything I’ve read indicates LiPo batteries are more expensive to manufacture.... https://whaddafudge.com/li-ion-vs-li-po-for-smartphones/ RavPower uses both for their portable power banks...

Ebike battery house fire in Australia

I’m guessing mainly cost. LiPo is more expensive to manufacture, so larger packs would be less cost effective. My understanding is they have a somewhat shorter life cycle as well. LiPo is lighter and can have a more compact form factor versus Li ion, which better suits RC applications. I do...

Why do the big bike brands (almost) never use hub motors?

A Superdelite has a hub drive? That’s news to me!

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

Unfortunately, where I live class 3 bikes are not permitted on the bike paths and MUPs I ride almost exclusively, so I am more than happy with my class 1, thanks!

    Bosch 6A charger

Charging a battery at 10C versus 1C will definitely negatively impact battery life over time. The article linked below actually notes one battery manufacturer recommending .7C. https://www.cadex.com/_content/Ultra-Fast_Charging.pdf

    Why Presta?

Meh.....I have both. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. Two of my bikes, including my eBike have narrow 700c rims. A schrader valve really isn’t an option, but I don’t get my knickers in a bunch because I need to loosen and re-tighten a simple valve when airing them up. Lol

taco bell drive thru /not a bike under florida law/class action lawsuit?

Not true, a bicyclist can most certainly be given a ticket for speeding. Doesn't matter if it has electric assist or not.

taco bell drive thru /not a bike under florida law/class action lawsuit?

Unless your bike has a VIN, license plate, and approved lighting, I can pretty much guarantee the DOT does not consider your electric powered bicycle a motor vehicle. Based on your logic of it being a "motor vehicle", your bike is not allowed on pedestrian and bike paths. Do you ride your "motor...

I'm pretty sure it is not discrimination, but rather a safety issue.

taco bell drive thru /not a bike under florida law/class action lawsuit?

Is it actually considered a motor vehicle? I don't think just because it has a motor classifies it as a motor vehicle. A typical motor vehicle requires a license plate, brake lights, turn signals....etc.

The minimum wage employee you were arguing with doesn’t make the rules, but they are expected to follow them.

taco bell drive thru /not a bike under florida law/class action lawsuit?

Most if not all drive thru’s in my area don’t allow bicycles or pedestrian walk ups. Also, I believe many use a weight sensor at the order station in order to determine that a vehicle is there. I can’t see a bicycle tripping the sensor......do you jump up and down to get their attention?!?

Looking at a Story Road Bike

Looks pretty nice. I have no experience with the bike or company, but one concern would be if the battery isn’t easily removable.
