rear hub motor riding styles affects on chains

Your riding habits sound good from where I'm sitting. Mine are very similar, but my emphasis would be for PAS1 and gears 3-5 mostly (fewer hills?), with occasional use of 6. 7 rarely used. Thinking here is a lot of this may have to do with controller programing too though. All of my bikes have...

BBSHD 52V Battery Low Voltage Protection Setting Confusion

Just for reference, I ride an Ultra powered bike (set up for 30a max draw) with a 48v battery. This bike will shut right down with a wide open burst of throttle with a voltage in the low 46v range - due to the voltage sag in this system. This is NOT handy (or particularly confidence inspiring)...

    Bafang Ultra Recommended Chain

While there is certainly that chance, there's nothing written in stone. I've done this (larger front gear) on a couple of bikes now, and a buddy has done the same, while using the original chain length. Still shifting just fine. Agreed though, the need for a little longer chain is something to...

    Bafang Ultra Recommended Chain

Curious the percentage of time you are spending with the chain on an 11 or 12 tooth rear cluster gear? I found myself on the 11t too often, and not wanting to cause any more wear than necessary, installed a larger front gear. This move allowed me to maintain the same speed as before, while...

K1 Flash - set Bafang CAN motor parameters (speed limit, circumference, power adjustments...), simple Firmware update and Calibration

I'll give you "interesting" without argument. It would appear though, that this work applies to just the M510. Don't get me wrong here. You know I'm all for development. I just don't care for folks making/selling vague claims.

K1 Flash - set Bafang CAN motor parameters (speed limit, circumference, power adjustments...), simple Firmware update and Calibration

Like what? What are you seeing? The ability to install firmware with unknown changes? I'm failing to see the need for this tool OR the BEST tool.

K1 Flash - set Bafang CAN motor parameters (speed limit, circumference, power adjustments...), simple Firmware update and Calibration

Maybe I'm missing something. Not seeing the big deal here. This ability has been around a while now.... What might help make it a bigger deal is more info, with some specifics regarding "included SD card (with set of firmwares - cca 50 firmwares". What exactly can one expect with each of these...

What to compare Priority current to?

If you're OK with R1U, have you seen their Turris? It's 55 lbs with a 600 WH battery.... https://ride1up.com/product/turris/ At this kind of price, it's going to be tough to beat.....

    Sport model by Espin discontinued

At 55lbs, it certainly looks tempting to me. This is about what we started out paying for the Espin bikes. Awesome price. It lets you add things like a suspension seat post, a rack, etc and STILL have a very reasonably priced bike....

    Sport model by Espin discontinued

My Sport and the wife's Flows are all hanging right in there. Though I also own a couple much more powerful mid drives, they're both heavier, alowing the Sport to hang right in their as one of my favorites. With the right mods, it's a pretty tough bike to beat- still!

    Bafang rear hub kit troubleshooting

This may seem too simple, but wondering if you're holding down the "on" button long enough? I have an 850C and it seems like it's taking it's sweet time to turn on or off. Maybe 20-30 seconds?

If you say so... None of my bikes do that.....

Alternative Display and Controller for NCM (DAS-KIT)

The answer is there is nothing special about the NCM. The less the draw on the battery, the less effect voltage sag will have on your top speed. Eg: a 500w motor won't cause voltage sag nearly as quickly as say a 1500w at wide open throttle. You can do the same thing with a controller that's...

    2000 miles on Ride1up 700 - what I learnt and what I want now

You can find hub driven bikes down to about 55lbs. Trick is to get no more battery than you need. 13.5-14.5ah is fine for a city bike. 500w gear driven hub motors work great. We have 3 Espin Bikes, 2 are Flows which is a step through, and we also have a Sport. The Sport is no longer sold, but is...

    Battery upgrade worth it?

There's little doubt it'll go further. How much further is on you and where you're taking/how you're riding the bike. I would just like to mention that the more powerful battery is also going to be heavier. Most likely noticeably heavier. That's fine if you need the range to finish a ride, but...
