    ....

I'd been interested for a couple years and rode a Trek on a short demo almost two years ago. At the time, I liked it very much, but wanted to stay under $2000, so didn't pursue it for another year or so. Last September, we were in San Diego and I had a day so I went down to the Pedego store...

Texas to Florida -- With the bike -- In a Prius

I have a 2005 Prius and my e-bike fits in the back with seat folded down. I just have to take off the front tire. The only problem is that there's not a lot of room for anything else.

It’s 2025 what does your ebike look like?

one of the issues seems to be that really fast charging eats into the number of cycles you'll get out of your battery.

It’s 2025 what does your ebike look like?

The bicycle itself has been a surprisingly resilient technology: the diamond frame, derailleurs, brake levers, and circular pedal motion have stayed at the core of the concept of the mainstream bicycle for a very long time. Disk brakes came from motorcycles to mountain bikes to road bikes and...

Known Issues & Problems with BMW Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

dumb problem, but the leads for my headlight on my BMW Cruise keep coming out. They slide on, but then slide right out.

    Best options?

I'm realizing that I'm being stubborn about it. I even passed up a chance to buy a second Bosch 400 battery recently. I may wait for a bike built around something like the Bosch Power Tube 625 or something that I can pedal uphill for a few miles.

    Share e-bikes in Sacramento, California

Jump Bikes https://jump.com/cities/sacramento/ which is owned by Uber is renting e-bikes in Sacramento. I was meeting an old friend at an ice cream parlor that I used to go to more than 50 years ago and there was a row of these share e-bikes docked right in front of the shop.

48 miles 5,000 feet, a personal challenge on Tuesday

I hope someone gets some video for your ride. It would make a great e-bike/heart recovery testimonial.

48 miles 5,000 feet, a personal challenge on Tuesday

I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing how it went, especially with respect to the battery drain on the extended uphills. From the video, it looks like a lot of climbing, but maybe not as steep grade wise as one might expect. If you can do the climb in tour or eco, I wonder if 2 batteries...

    Best options?

Much of what's making this hard to figure out is the Appalachians. Probably, the only thing that makes sense is to do a day ride there; it's about a 3 hour drive for me. If I could get 120 miles on 2 batteries, it would be a no brainer in terms of what to do.

    Best options?

A couple short trial rides is a great suggestion. I was thinking of maybe something like Blowing Rock to Asheville. Back when I was in D.C., I did the C&O canal from DC to about 10 miles beyond Harper's Ferry and back on a mountain bike. It wasn't the hills, since there really weren't many...

Thanks. one possibility is to buy a second battery and then sell one of them after my trips.

    Best options?

I'm not a big fan of the 2 battery thing, because the extra weight makes pedaling with the motor off even less of an option, but how far in a day have you gone with your 3 batteries?

    Best options?

I'll have to try out some Yamaha based bikes. Interesting, about just finding a plug for an hour+ a couple times during the day.

    Best options?

I'm thinking about doing a couple tours with a fair amount of climbing in the Appalachians. My current e-bike has a 50 mile range and weighs about 50 pounds unloaded. The 50 mile range is with the bike almost exclusively in eco mode. I'm hoping to do about 100 miles/day. 1. The best...

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Lake Crabtree in Cary, North Carolina. Unfortunately, the bike path doesn't go all the way around the lake, though it does connect to bike paths heading away from the lake.

How many miles do you have on your ebike?

I feel like a slacker. I just crossed 1000 miles after 10 months on my BMW Cruise. I did take most of the winter off, because of the rain/cold. It is about 700-800 more miles than I would have done without an e-bike.

Cute step through bike for 6’3” woman

My one e-bike friend is 6'1" tall and female. She found a good fit with a Cannondale Neo Quick. She mentioned that her leg length sort of took the bike shop guys by surprise, when she was trying to find a bike that would work for her.

    Light weight eBikes review

I happen to think that long tours still present logistical problems for e-bikes. I'm not a fan of the 2 or more battery solution. Even if you bring your charger, it takes too long to go from mostly discharged to fully charged. Right now, a lighter bike that one can pedal uphill, more or less...
